I cant see how Reinhart, Dumba and Rielly dont all make the team. If they dont, those selecting the team will have dropped the ball yet again.
The weakness will be up front, but there are many draft eligible players who could make the team as there was a dearth of top end Canadian forwards from the past draft year, and the guys from the year before that, many of them look to make their nhl teams.
A back end of
Reinhart Murphy
Rielly Dumba
Harrington Ceci
looks pretty damn exciting to me.
Hopefully they go with that lineup as we have been lacking pop from the back end for several years now.

I have a feeling Murphy won't be available. I agree on your other 5, and would like to see a couple two-way guys like Koekkoek and Siemens grab the other two spots. I keep hearing this stuff about Siemens being black-balled for some reason but if he is as dominant as he could be to start the year he will force his way into the picture.

They could slot in a Koekkoek or Siemens into that spot and not really lose that much. Dumba and Rielly are going to bring the offense, so maybe Murphy would be overkill, but damn, I do like the sound of having all three. The goals are going to have to come from somewhere, may as well be from the backend for once.
They always go conservative with the d and it hasnt been working too well lately. I think it was a couple of years ago they were using forwards on the point on the pp when guys like Murphy were sitting home watching.
I really expect Galchenyuk to make the Canadiens this year, but even without him I still expect Johnny Gaudreau to absolutely tear it up at this tournament.
Selfishly speaking, but I think the Habs would be doing him a disservice putting him into the fire so soon. He could really use another year of junior.
Pontus Åberg - Mika Zibanejad - Richard Rakell
Filip Forsberg - William Karlsson - Sebastian Collberg
Emil Lundberg - Elias Lindholm - Nick Sörensen
Erik Nyström - Victor Rask - Jeremy Boyce
Jonas Brodin - Oscar Klefbom
Ludvig Byström - Hampus Lindholm
Tom Nilsson - Mikael Wikstrand
Two darkhorses for Canada are Adam Lowry and Lukas Sutter.
Lowry started the season strong before he had a wrist injury (which eventually required surgery). Sutter plays like a prototypical Sutter, which is always good.

I have a lot of reservations of most 18 year olds playing in the NHL.
Then factor in with Gally basically missing most of last season the Habs should have him play at least one more season with Sarnia.

I dont understand how some people can have Rychel, Lazar, Duclair and Drouin in their lineups. Hockey Canada usually only goes with the elite 17 year olds like Tavares, Stamkos etc. Even RNH and Seguin were left off as 17yo's. I thought I was pushing it by including Mackinnon, and two draft eligble 18yo's in Monahan and Shinkaruk.

Exactly. If I were making the team, I would not shy away from taking 17 year olds if I find them to be better options, but Hockey Canada operates with an agenda, as shown when they did not bother to invite Calvin Pickard last year. I forsee Duncan Siemens suffering a similar fate if he does not average about a point-per-game this year.
Also, they BETTER include MacKinnon on the team this time. He's Canada's most dynamic player, period.
