Anyone who thinks signing a 4th liner to a cheap contract is a steal is delusional. He probably won't play in half the games for WSH anyway.
Anyone who thinks Wolski hasn't got the potential to be more than a 4th liner hasn't seen him play back with the avalanche.
He's lazy. But there always is the possibility to change your attitude. I mean, he needs to prove himself, otherwise he won't get another NHL contract next summer.
And IF he'll be willing to compete, he'll be on the best contract in the whole league.
Good luck to Wolski and the caps! Good signing!
What a train wreck of a career. Over the course of three seasons has gone from a first line, 65-point player to a guy getting 10-12 minutes a night and the first choice to be yanked from the line-up when his team is struggling.
Peter Mueller ended up not working out for the Avalanche, but that trade with Phoenix was still a win for Colorado.
Funny part is Phoenix shipped Wolski to the Rangers for Rozsival who ended up being the most effective of the three players.
I have always liked Wolski, when he was in avs he was one of my favorites. Back then, all I wanted was to see him in my team.
And now, some years later it's happening. Can't say that i'm as excited now like I was then, but this signing can still be good!
