This has a lot more potential. If he can get his legs back and stay healthy, we're looking at a 20-25 goal scorer, imo. The Wolski experiment has already been run and it's obvious Dineen wasn't a fan.

I LOVE this. THANK YOU DALE TALLON!!!!!

This is one of the very few guys that I was actually interested in during this free agency. This is a big guy with decent wheels, a right handed shot that shoots HARD and can be used on the point during the PP.

A one-year term is also perfect, gives us a very low-risk, high-reward type situation. If he performs well this year, we can start negotiating an extension in early 2013. This is EXACTLY the type of deal I wanted for this guy. Pretty cheap in terms of money as well.

Injuries are really my only concern with him, and that's where we could lose out on this deal. If he ends up playing 20 games, it'll suck. BUT, he's not signed long term and as I said, if he plays terrible this season we just simply let him go on July 1st.

Wicked job DT, I knew that I was drinking this kool-aid for a reason!!! (MMmmm green apple!)

And the problem with giving Mueller 1 yr / $1.75 compared to Crosby is exactly what? No problem. Good job DT.
we already went over this in detail. There was never an issue with the contract either. if you're going to reignite a dead debate, at least get your thread discussion right.

I wonder if Jovo influenced him to come here.

Nice! Now I'm still not sure Bjugy skips going back to Minny. So we might still need a center.

Asked a reliable source in Colorado this week about Mueller and his response was: Too slow, no passion.

Kopecky: To Slow
Bergenheim: One playoff Wonder
Fleischman: Health
Versteeg: Journey man in-consistent
Goc: Good for PK and thats it

I'll take our chances.

I had never heard a diss about Goc, the only thing I heard before we got him is that, he's a great 3rd line center and very underrated.

To say Crosby had no concussion issue is just plain dumb

Look at the stats and look at Bergeron's own comments and get back after that. It was closer to two years before he was back to normal.

If anything I would think Mueller is the complete opposite. He is not a Wolski type of player.

So, you would say that Booth missed tree years and keep counting since he's still not back to normal?

Some good, some worrying things about him. I guess he's ok. Best of all: 1 year contract. We'll see.

Interesting signing, I hope he pans out and manages to play a decent number of games for us this year. A 1 year contract is good as it doesn't commit us to him so there is no risk of him blocking our prospects or wasting salary.

the one-year contract means there's really nothing to worry about

i love this move. love, love, LOVE. low risk, extremely high reward. mueller had 20 pts in 15 games before getting concussed in 2009. much like fleishmann in colorado, he was starting to break out and it got derailed by injuries.

there's no guarantees he regains form, but we lose nothing in trying. if he comes in, stays healthy and plays well, we just added a 24 year old top-6 forward for cheap. if he gets hurt again, we big him adieu in the offseason. if he stays healthy, i think mueller will be productive. his stats last year werent overwhelming but remember, he was coming back after TWO years away from the game....not one. and still, his stats from last year project to 18g
-23a-41pts over an 82 game schedule. not overwhelming, but not bad either considering the amount of time he missed. its well documented that it took patrice bergeron a full season before he truly regained his form.

anyway, love the move. Mueller and Shane Doan were the two guys I wanted going into free agency...i hope i'm a modern day Nostradamus

I saw this last night but wanted to digest it. And yes I like it like everyone else does in that it is a low risk move. He's a good RWer for our 2nd line and basically a replacement for Samuelsson (though not as good defensively as Sammy).

And since he's more of a RW, I'm starting to think the org is going to try Huberdeau at center if Bjugstad doesnt come out of college and make this team. I know people wont really like my lines if I put them together but here's what I think Dineen will try to do to start the season (this wont be how it is by the end though):

Upshall-Weiss-Versteeg
Flash-Goc-Mueller
Bergy-Huberdeau-Kopecky
Parros-Smithson/Matthias-Skille

It balances the lineup, gives Huby some time to adjust, and would be difficult for a lot of teams to key on any 1 line. Baring injuries, we're still as good of a team as we were last yr.

Hard to have a lot of passion when your brain is scrambled.Hopefully he comes back like Perron for St Louis. It's a good low risk signing.

just FYI and keep in mind neither beat writer has addressed this supposed signing, and the organization has not officially stated anything, nor have Dreger or MacKenzie tweeted anything about it. Not sure what is going on but hope the signing is indeed true lol.

I'm not too concerned...papers probably haven't gone through league office yet. It'll likely be announced today or maybe tomorrow.

Or I'm completely wrong, who knows.
