That would give Crosby a deadly winger with 50 goal potential. Like really, what is taking the Pens so long to sign this guy?? Just get it over with already my goodness.
The same thing that is taking the Wings so long to sign this guy, or anyone else. Semi thinks he should command much more than he is worth. He could get paid well short term but he wants a long term deal and has a reputation for a crappy work ethic. I don't even hear any rumors about teams being close to signing the guy.

That's what happens when free agency is reached at such a young age. Players are just reaching their prime when they reach UFA status, which means teams are willing to lock them up for a long time. Never happened when UFA status took until 31... as end of careers were within sight.

I don't know... America was in a war in 1776... so wouldn't the next best one be the first one after the revolution was over?

Sure, 1776 July 4th was the 2nd most important () but wouldn't say it was second best!

Rankings by importance:

1. July 4, 2012
2. July 4, 1776

BEST OF rankings:

1. July 4, 2012
2. July4, 1784

What I mean is that there aren't going to be lots of trades and a whole lot of big moves coming on top of one another and a whole lot of new moves and signings day after day after day for weeks on end. It's not supposed to be like that and certainly won't be like that in a cap league. Some teams will make big moves, most will make small moves and some may not make any moves at all.
It's not designed to be "exciting" for fans to follow day after day during the summer. Players will get signed when they get signed but people waiting for it to get "exciting" are always going to be disappointed.

I guess you guys want the days where players were pieces of cheap meat that should be treated like crap and traded on a whim?
I am old enough to remember the days when guys like ballard and others traded playes because they felt like it

Compared to today where overpaid players ***** and moan until they get traded to the team THEY want to go to. Despite another team having a better offer for the organization.
