I'd imagine the Bolts would be interested in something else if they ever moved Malone.

Tampa is lacking in size with our forwards along with Toronto, we aren't going to trade one of our physical players for another player who scored 15 less points in 5 more games played.

It's the not the worst proposal I have seen. But I don't think Tampa does this. MacArthur is a little to inconsistent, where as Malone is a consistent 50 point scorer.

I'll piggyback Clarke to Tampa myself.

No from Tampa. I think Malone has been playing well for us when healthy. He goes full beast mode sometimes and it's fun to watch.

I know Leaf fans have a love-affair with this guy because he is 6'4", and it is constantly brought up, but I don't really see why either team would do this.

If Macarthur is being moved, it is to open up space in the forward ranks, not to bring in a similar, older player on a bigger cap hit for longer term.

Value wise it's good for Toronto.

But Malone isn't someone I'm interested in if I'm Toronto cause of how long his contract runs. Toronto should be looking to trade CMac this season because Kadri take his spot at a cheaper price which gives us more cap room next off-season to acquire what we truly need which is another high end player preferably a center which will probably come in at a 6+ million of a cap hit.

Toronto has no need for Malone at this point, too many similar and cheaper players in the pipeline

I don't see why Tampa would do this other than to dump salary. If that's the case, we're not doing them any favours. Deal with your own bad contracts.

Tampa wouldn't do it. No reason to. Cap hit of 4.5 million is a bit pricey, but there is plenty of cap space. Actual salary of 3 million is a decent price for what he brings. And there is absolutely no need to dump salary.

Agreed.

I also agree with Tampa fans that they have no reason to do it either. They front loaded his contract and now he's getting into the years where they are paying him less than his cap hit.

lolwaaa?

Malone scored 50 points once in his career back in 07-08. How does that make him a consistant 50 point player?

Exactly why it wouldn't work.

He's not gonna waive his NTC to go to Toronto and its not a good deal for Tampa anyway.
