Roberto Luongo XXIII - Next Fall - Administrator Warning Post #548
So it seems nothing is imminent "Luongo Update. from a source, "Until the asking price is severely diminished nothing will get done." The two main teams, Toronto and Florida are both starting to turn their focus elsewhere..The Leafs have never been further from getting this deal done for Luongo. I am hearing from all sides Vancouver continues to sit back and wait for someone to accept their offer"
So what you are saying is eklund is reliable when he agrees with you.
What movie franchise are you going to switch to next because I get the feeling Loungo is not moving anytime soon. My vote is for Harry Potter only because there is so many of them you can do.
The Leafs aren't going to trade away their only top -6 centre, especially after significantly overpaying to keep him locked up long-term.
Based on the last thread you'd think that Bozak was the Leafs top center. I'm just trying to find something that makes sense based on the feedback I've gotten.

Lets put it this way...the Leafs are so bad at center we are trying JVR, a carreer long winger there. So obviously...any of our top 6 centers are taboo.
Has Gillis stated to the media that Schneider is the guy yet? Because if Gillis has not, then Schneider still might not be the guy. Gillis did and said what he had to in order for Schneider to re-sign.
"I don't think it was either one of us that really...either I demanded a trade or Mike, you know, suggested that I leave, but I think it was just more of a mutual understanding that it was time for me to go and Cory to take over."

What of JVR works out, is Bozak expendable?
From what I've heard Grabo is a much better centre than Bozak and if JVR can play with Kessel on the 1st line than you have Bozak as your third C which makes him a little easier to trade no?

It's a stretch but hey what's left to discuss
Yup, with Steckel and Mc Clement as well as Connolly/Lombardi Bozak would be moveable. BUT, to be honest, not many of us are holding out much hope that JVR will become a superstar center. Also, we won't know for sure until well into the season.

I really like that trade for you guys. But that's a tough spot to put a young guy in who struggled last year. I'd be tempted to play him at wing where he can regain his confidence. He really brings a unique skillset that could help a lot of teams if he puts it all together.

Face it. Unless you propose Luongo for garbage nobody will accept it around here.

Nothing really mindblowing. Most people know that Gillis has set the price way to high. If Lou would only waive to go to Florida, then Gillis has put himself in a terrible spot and got no cards to play. I doubt Florida would look elsewhere since we got pretty good goaltending.
