Kompon was the lone survivor of the Crawford regime.

He persevered through the Terry Murray era.

And after some consideration from Darryl Sutter...

... it's time for a change.

Mods reopen this thread. It hasn't run its course. Kings don't win a cup without Kompon and they also have no one left whose name rhymes with tampon.

I love the irony of the fact that we all hate on him for our loosy and very unimaginative PP, yet in his final game the Kings score 3 on a five minute powerplay which basically locks up the Stanley Cup for us. I'm glad DL/DS didn't let that blind them to the fact that Kompon needed to go.

3 PP goals in the first period of game 6 during one 5 minute PP. He saved the best for last.

Unlike 99% of this board, I don't believe in kicking a man when he is down.

He was just recently fired. Does he really need more disrespect?

I think some of you guys need to put yourself in his shoes and see how it feels.

I get the humor in LBFF post and I did get a chuckle out of it. But I also think the man needs to be respected for his hard work and effort. Remember, effort doesn't mean result.

He wasn't fired. His contract ended and the Kings aren't bringing him back.

Call it what you want.

Bottom line is, Jamie didn't quit, but the kings no longer want to employ him.

Yup, a 29th ranked offensive effort with roster comprised of 5+ former 30+ goal scorers...

God speed Jamie.
