Agree. I love the trade. Going by his presser yesterday, he seems excited to try out center. Guess we shall see.

Most people being Florida and Toronto fans.
Since a deal hasn't been done, by definition Florida and TO think the price from Gillis is too high and Gillis thinks the offers from the others are too low. Like most negotaitions the truth lies probably somewhere in the middle. Were you expecting Tallon and Burke to say we think that Gillis has made a fair offer but we're going to try to see if we can rip him off.

Gillis asking price: Gardiner, Lupul, 2013 1st, Bozak
Burke counter-offer: Komisarek, Franson, 2nd

Us reasonable fans: Kadri, Lombardi, protected 1st.

Let's all become GMs.

I had posted about how Biggs would be perfect for the Nucks but it disappeared. Its an HF conspiracy to keep Biggs under the radar Any how he was listed at 205 6 foot 2 but at the development camp he is 235lb. It was commented on how he gained muscle mass. He actually fought Broll who is a big time goon. His nickname is Broll-Dozer. So I can see Biggs as a Lucic light, same size but even meaner than Lucic but 75% of the scoring. Then you have Ross and he has been compared to Tucker and Ott. I'm sure Van would be interested in a Lucic light or a Tucker or Ott type player. Imagine a line of Kassain LaPierre Biggs

Hopefully Kassian will be more than a 3/4 liner though. I hope Gillis did his homework before pulling the trigger on that trade.

Per Jason Botchford of the Vancouver Providence

https://twitter.com/botchford/status/223532547844476928

@MarioMontega but they have been talking to chicago about Lu.

One thing I will say is that there is no way Chicago gives up any type of quality anything for Lu

if Vancouver fans want to dream sure

but Chicago will never give anything of value (no top prospect, no current roster guys) - it just won't happen

and people are going to be pissed to think Bolland,Stalberg,Saad, etc are not go to Vancouver

But Chicago would rather let Van keep Luongo then make them better

so overall - a 2nd round pick for luongo would be the max

Great deal for the Canucks, solve your chief rivals achilles heel for a 2nd round pick... where do we sign?

Thanks for coming out Stan. Good luck with Corey Crawford next year.
Chicago will have to overpay if they want Luongo. There is no way we're fixing that huge hole in net for a second rounder.

If Chicago is seriously interested in Luongo, they'll be offering more than a 2nd round pick. Chicago is the one that needs Luongo. We do not need/want Luongo in Chicago, Toronto and Florida are both
willing to give up much more han a 2nd.

That works both ways though. Why would Vancouver want to make Chicago better? If any deal is made between these two teams it will be for fair value. What that is for these two particular teams remains to be seen.

If Luongo were to be dumped, it would be to the Eastern Conference.

I guess every teams fanbase has a few of you guys eh?

A 2nd round pick really--obviously GMMG has nothing to really talk to chicago about .

The same could probably be said for Vancouver solving Chicago's goaltending.

I suppose it won't matter as much once realignment occurs.

I don't know about you guys but I think if (when) Luongo gets traded he will win a Cup with that team before the Canucks

Depends which team he's traded to. If its Chicago then I agree easily.

Then they shouldn't even be talking to Vancouver. Chicago, logically, should pay more than Florida or Toronto.

Biggs looks like a great prospect. Apparently he's between 6'3 and 6'4 now and around 230lbs. He's going to be a beast if he continues his development.

While you're wheeling and dealing, maybe we can interest you in one of the Sedin twins in exchange for future considerations.
