Yes, lets give arguably a top 5 goalie, and easily a top 10 goalie in the nhl, to our biggest rivals, for a 2nd round pick.

Do people even read what they write?

Some have said Harry Potter. We also have nominations for TV shows and Beatles songs. Maybe someone should put up a poll?

This. Gillis can keep him. We really don't care.

Not sure why anyone wanting Luongo would pay much at this point.....buyers market.

We've already got them down to a 1st instead of Biggs/Ashton.

Toronto, Chicago, lesser extent Florida need goaltending.

Luongo is the only starter on the market. And he's elite.

I've been saying all along that Grabovksi makes sense, Canuck fans seem to be coming on board, is that something the Leafs could be interested in? With JVR, Connolly, Bozak, McClement and Steckel down the middle, could you trade Grabo? I think the Canucks might be willing to part with Schroeder as well in a deal that solves the riddle down the middle for the next few seasons.

Luongo + Schroeder

for

Grabo

Salary wise, it makes perfect sense. Value wise, franchise goalie + solid prospect = very good second line centre is pretty good, imo. Whadya think?

Grabo isn't getting traded. Best C the Leafs have by far.

I doubt Kadri will be traded either.

@MarioMontega but they have been talking to chicago about Lu.

Vancouver trades a top 10 goalie in the league to arguably their biggest rivals for a second round pick.

One thing I will say is that there is no way Chicago gives up any type of quality anything for Lu

if Vancouver fans want to dream sure

but Chicago will never give anything of value (no top prospect, no current roster guys) - it just won't happen

and people are going to be pissed to think Bolland,Stalberg,Saad, etc are not go to Vancouver

But Chicago would rather let Van keep Luongo then make them better

so overall - a 2nd round pick for luongo would be the max

I think it's a very fair deal to be honest, but I just can't see Burke moving Grabo. Then again I can't predict hockey trades for squat

Unless were moving Kesler to his wing Grabo doesnt make a tonne of sense. Good player, but in all honesty I would rather just buy low in Connolly.

I would imagine his value is next to nothing in a Luongo trade, and he fills a few holes on this roster (Kes replacement, 3rd line C, 2nd PP center, guy who goes on IR just before trade deadline)

Canucks can do better than this. There's no way they should be adding to an elite goalie for a good but not great 2C.

I wouldn't be opposed if Vancouver needed a top-6 center right now.

I would rather go after Connolly for cheap and some younger players who help down the road.

crap is going to hit the fan if gillis can't get good return

but i just seems really hard to do with that contract

he is obviously tradable - but for a top prospect.. i doubt it

If it were any other team, they would make great trading partners.

Chicago has solid roster players and a strong farm system, and their biggest weakness is goaltending.

These teams could both realistically make a trade that helps both sides.

But neither side wants that to happen.

According to Botchford the two GM's are talking....I guess they're more professional than the fans? Go figure...

I woulsn't be surprised, and a trade could happen...

Its just a factor that would make a trade more difficult than say Toronto or Florida.

They may not be as inclined to make a good "hockey trade".
