I wouldnt have a problem going with what we got. trading for Nash or Ryan isnt ideal due to the cost. Doan or Semin are likely to get more then we can offer a year.

To clarify, I said if the Stars moved Morrow right now -- and this was before the Roy surgery news broke -- they would want a young roster forward from the Flyers and probably ask for ONE of Read or Simmonds, not both.

I still wouldn't make the trade if it were my call.

I wouldn't make the trade either, we should roll with the roster we have now and see how things pan out closer to the trade deadline, if the price is right for an additional piece that can help make a stanley cup run pull the trigger then.

What is it you like so much about Morrow? Don't you see a bit of him in hartnell? I would not do Simmonds in a deal for him and I think that Read might even be too much. I love his leadership and grit , but I don't see him as a top line guy for us.

I would absolutely love to have Brenden Morrow on the Flyers. He's a great leader, a big physical presence who can hit and even fight when needed, and he's got scoring ability. He's getting older and he's been a bit brittle over the past few years, but if we could get him at the deadline when his cap hit won't be so important, I'd be ecstatic. He put up a career-high 33 goals in 2010-2011. I can't imagine he just suddenly got so bad in one year that he's no longer useful for offensive production. He could still pot 20.

Imagine a third line with Morrow, Couturier and Read. There would be speed, physicality, defensive ability, and scoring.

If the Flyers could get Morrow for picks only I would say yes. Trading our youth is not an option for Morrow.
