Yeah, I love his salute to his brother on the ice (kisses his fist and raises it in the air).

I always liked Malkin's story about coming over from Russia to the NHL, and the difficulties he faced in getting out of the Mother Land.

Its not as emotionally compelling as some of the above, but still a great story.

His backstory itself stands out. Get over it.. seriously.

Adam Wallace - Stephen Johnston - Derek Lanoue

Sorry for being nitpicky - just don't want your article to be wrong!
Are you sure they didn't play together on the 09-10 team that won the cup because Adam Henrique, Taylor Hall and Eric Wellwood have all told me differently. Direct quote from Adam, "It was me and Hallsy together for three years and ya know we had guys coming in and out of the line, but once we found Eric ya know we started playing really well together."

Not to be nitpicky of course.

Sheldon Kennedy for surviving both the Swift Current Broncos bus crash and Graham James.

Patrick O'Sullivan is another player like Sheldon Kennedy and Bobby Ryan who you can't really say has the 'best' back story (they're all pretty horrible), but has a pretty compelling one. It's inspiring to know how these guys can succeed and make the NHL when they've faced so many obstacles.

Always great to see players rising above things to find success.
