That's the most sensible one to get. Kid is going nowhere.

Some of these jersey purchases were awful even back then.

I got a my 3rd Jersey (Liberty) personlized with Mike York (#16) when I was in Toronto in late 2001...he got traded a few months later. Still loved him it's a shame injuries and him not staying in shape ruined his career.

I also have a Landry Fields Knicks jersey and it looks like he may not be here anymore.

I am a seller, if anyone is interested? They make great liners for a litter box.

Yeah... How much for the Jessiman?

I have a #24 Michel Petit jersey. That was bad enough, but he was traded a couple of months after I got it.

I sorta regretted the Jagr jersey after he came back to Philly, it stung a little but I've held onto it.

First jersey I ever bought was a Brian Leetch one. The next one I got had no name on it because I really didn't like any of the players the Rangers had at the time. When they got Jagr, I went out and bought it right away. Now I wear my 1 year old Gaborik jersey which I gladly like and will def buy in the next season or 2, either Callahan or McDonagh.

Only other Ranger jerseys I bought was a Messier & Lundqvist for my father & a Staal for my brother in law.

I like to wear them until the white is no longer white and they don't fit anymore.

Slightly off topic but very funny...in 1996 one of my sons bought a game weight Blues Shanahan and the other son bought a game weight Pronger. Both got their jerseys about a week before they were traded for each other.

Bought a Crosby and he got hurt afterwards. Literally got it days before WC too.

Drury and Dubi are looking brutal right now.

I made my mom spend 350.00 bucks on a authentic 75th anniversary white jersey with my last name and 88 on the back. Because I was going to be the next great player with a high double digit number lol. Then lindros came alone a few years later and I told my friends he stole my number. Sad but true

No jersey problems yet but my sister, despite all my warnings, decided to buy a Dubinsky Jersey in late February.

I have a Sean Avery jersey which I now regret. I also just bought season tickets and decided to get an authentic to wear to the games. The jersey I chose was Anton Stralman. Fell in love with the guy's game this season and especially playoffs. I have a feeling that will be a regret buy in a few years, but I hope not.

I also have a McDonagh and Kreider jersey. Feel like I cant go wrong with those two.

My first ever, and only, jersey is a Winter Classic McDonagh jersey. I won't regret that one.

Next season I want to get either a Lundqvist or Kreider home jersey.

Got a blank white Lady Liberty jersey, a Gaborik 3rd jersey, a Callahan home jersey, Mike Richter white Lady Liberty, and a Tie Domi away jersey from his time in NY. I also have a fake Callahan Winter Classic jersey, which is the only one I regret getting. I bought it from some Chinese website for $40 last summer because I thought it was cool. At least it was only $40

EDIT:

I forgot, I also had a Soviet CCCP jersey (I believe it was a Larionov) but it disappeared somehow. I'm pissed at myself for losing it

Oh forgot the worst part. Finally got old enough to realize how bad the jersey was. In a effort to not waste it. I would bring it to get autographs on the front. Got messier, kovalev, hasek, zubov, and about 10 others. Then my mom washed it and ruined it. Unbelievable

Always best imo to start out with a classic jersey...a guy who you can always wear. You'll never regret it either. Messier, Leetch, etc. Then grow your collection from there with core guys you love and hope will be on the team for a long time.

This is why I avoid personalizing....the only one I kind of regret is a Jagr home jersey, but it's not that bad, just him coming back pissed me off. I love all my others:

Throwback '77 Espo
White and Blue Liberties (no names or numbers)
'94 home white (no names or numbers)

I had more, but I wear the crap out of my jerseys, and they are long gone/ruined. Even the '94 is worn the heck out, I just can't bear to part with it. I ruined the Stanley Cup hat by wearing it way too much.

then I have a black Hurricanes Staal for my wife, I wonder if they will add the "E." for us at the start of the season. LOL

anyone who owns a Liberty-NYR jersey should regret it. That logo is embarrassingly cheesy. It's like the Jersey Shore of hockey jerseys yeeeeesh
