Pretty interesting since I gave it a 5% chance of him coming over this year. Anyone know if he has an NHL clause in his contract in Sweden?

Power cycling champ! I'll never forget when he was drafted, the confusion was amazing.

not even close to the same thing.

anyways as all reports indicated Lindholm was without a doubt one of the best players at our prospect camp. coaches and staff members raved about his play and have asked him to come challenge for a spot this year during training camp. would not be surprised to see him play in the NHL according to the reports. If not i can see them letting him get his feet wet for 9 games then sending him back to sweeden similar to Zibanejad for Ottawa last year.

Feet Wet?

Could he get his feet wet in the Atlantic Ocean in Norfolk?

Unfortunately the SEL is probably a little stronger for his development than the AHL. Would be sweet for Norfolk fans though.

So what's the lowdown on this guy? I know he's an off-the-board pick by the Ducks, but it's sounding like a good pick? Any ideas on how 29 other teams missed this guy?

29 other teams didn't miss him, he went 6th overall.

Every Swedish contract has an NHL out-clause.

It's so early because the signing deadline for European players playing in Europe is July 15th.
They had to sign him if they wanted him to be attend training camp and have a shot at making the team, so they did.

No, it's likely NHL or Sweden.
He has a year on his contract with Rögle and will either fulfill that remaining year or play in the NHL.

An excellent prospect.

I was really hoping he would fall to the Hawks.

He was compared to pietrangelo at the draft. If he becomes anywhere close, I'll be extremely thrilled.

His style was compared to Pietrangelo's, not his skill level.

I wouldn't count on him ever reaching Pietrangelo's level.

Pretty sure he can attend their camp and be re-assigned to his Swedish team if he doesn't make the Ducks (see Zibanejad last year).

Hampe will be better. I actually think when all is set and done, he will be the Ducks #1 D-Man.
