Sad game to watch. We knew Edmonton would suck, but the Riders didn't look much better. No excuses for them.
The Lions will destroy them if they play like that.
EDIT: Rod Black trying to sell us on the Riders. Puke.
Yeah we can't really blame Black for doing this. Not like he can say "wow what a terrible game we just watched". I agree with everyone, that was a very bad game to watch. Now all we're going to hear for a week is how the Riders are back after a 2-0 start. We'll see how they do when they play the Lion's.
One way around the ridiculous ticket prices is a promo the Lions have going with Scotiabank. You need a Scotiabank debit card or VISA though. It's buy one get one free for end zone tickets with a limit of 4. That comes out to $43 for 2 or $86 for 4. Not bad, that's what the regular prices should be.
I'm thinking of signing up for one of those Scene Visa cards from Scotiabank to take advantage of this. It also gives you enough Scene points for 4 free movies.

I have ScotiaBank SCENE debit and Visa cards, and I love them. You get something like 2 or 3 free movies just for signing up, you get 100 pts every time you go to the movies, and the Visa card is 5x the points of the debit card, which is awesome for when you're already making those large purchases. (Which I've had to make a few of, recently.)
Too bad I don't live in Vancouver - I'd totally take advantage of this Lions offer too.
Hmm. Tempting. Let's see if I can qualify for the Scene Visa, lol.
Personally, I don't know why the Lions are singling out one group of fans for this offer (well, I do since Scotiabank is a huge CFL partner), but if they did this promotion through Groupon, they would likely fill both the lower and upper endzone sections.
Another way I'm trying to get around the ticket prices...
Team 1040 holds a ticket giveaway once a week from 3-6pm, usually on Wednesdays. They give away up to 75 pairs of tickets. All you have to do is drop a chip into a small Plinko-type board and you have a 50/50 shot at the tickets. I tried for the first time today at the River Rock and of course I lost. I recommend going with one other person.
Corey Chamblin was trash talking his players today to get them ready for the game on Saturday
Quote:
"I was the BC Lions today," Chamblin revealed. "They're a very vocal team. Their team's gonna come in here with a lot to say and the guys called me on that. They said 'You never talk about an opponent and today you talked about the BC Lions!'. I just wanted to be the BC Lions today and let the new guys know what kind of environment they're gonna have. They're gonna have a lot of trash talk and they're gonna have a lot of in-your-face from those guys because they're a very confident bunch."
