Projects as an AHL depth defensemen..don't see how that makes him a lock for an AHL spot with all of the guys competing.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before.
I'm surprised Leipold's allowing Fletcher to potentially have to bury a few million in Houston in 13-14. Guess he didn't learn from Prosser's extension.

And here's proof of the Jobke comment.

Please enlighten us then. I'm intrigued. Do we have the next Bobby Orr in him, toiling away in obscurity?

He's nothing terribly special, projects as a bottom pairing NHLer (with a slim chance of being a second pairing type guy if he develops right). Average size, but doesn't shy away from physical play. Put up 10 goals and 19 assists on a fairly bad Regina team last year (had a 20 year old score 115, but second highest scorer put up 55 points). Earned an invite to the Subway series last year where he looked fairly good. Brings some of the grit that we're so desperately lacking on the back end. He's a long term project, but unlike Krupp and Caron he's not just some futureless hack.

Isn't Krupp playing in Europe?

No idea. I'd hope so, but I haven't heard anything and his contract won't slide anymore.
