Wow Paul. I guess you're allowed to single-handedly destroy a game every couple years

To be fair, its not often a miss field goal gets returned for a TD.

Well, at least special teams cost us a game early in the year instead of late. Maybe Wally and Benavides finally do something about them now.

One loss won't kill us, in fact, I think it'll do us some good down the road. We'll no longer think we're invincible.

Injuries and Lulay playing like crap for the most part. We'll be okay.

If I'm Travis Lulay I'm VERY frustrated with my veteran receivers in the last two games, especially Geroy Simon. When was the last time (this season) that anyone saw Geroy stretch his arms out to catch a ball... make an effort on a pass that required him to leave his feet? It seems that both Bruce and Simon are only interested in a perfect cradle catch that they can haul in in stride.

That CAN'T happen every pass.

Simon (last game) and Bruce (this game) could have both had TD's if they would have laid-out and gone after the ball. Simon especially could have had some huge catches if he would have just done what ever receiver is taught to do:

'catch the ball at it's highest point" - that is, JUMP for the ball.

Don't get me wrong, they are both amazing receivers and bring a huge X factor to the team but if they could just give it 10 - 15% more... holy crap... not only are we 3-0 but we're also leading the league in points per game by a wide margin.

Come on Geroy/Arland... make it happen out there boys!

Hilarious, I came up with the exact same word to describe Suitor as you.

Anyway, boo on both the Lions and Whitecaps losing.

It's kind of a shame really. Suitor is usually pretty good in terms of what he adds to a broadcast but when the Riders are playing everything goes out the window - case in point his fawning over Kory Sheets who had an average game but wasn't spectacular.

Lions are looking like the Canucks of last year so far. They still look complaisant and the little mistakes are just killing them right now. Coverage was terrible again, and I'm not sure what's going on with the kicking game this year. Maybe the loss of Jarious (who has been holding for Mccallum that past few years) was more serious than first thought. I'm not ready to give up on Paul yet, but this has to improve, fast.

Also celebrating like you've won the Grey Cup after game 3 of the regular season? I found that incredibly dumb and will hopefully fire the Lions up that much more for the next time they play them. But those new Riders unis are still so laughably bad that even when they win they still look like losers. lol

On the Lions broadcast today I heard they are beginning to build the new 33,000 seat stadium for the Riders in 2013 and will have it completed for the 2017 season. Why is it going to take 4 years to build the new stadium for the Riders?

4 years seemed crazy so I googled it and found out that the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton built their 30,000 stadium in 11 months of construction. Other answers I found suggested a year or two. So why is this taking 4 years?

Probably just not trying to raise expectations too high. Anytime the public sector runs into time delays the public tends to not handle that so well.

Additionally, labour shortages/costs in Regina right now might also play into that timeline.

Is it just me or has the officiating greatly improved in the CFL over the past couple of seasons? Obviously being able to challenge plays and automatic reviews have helped, but still I find that our officials seem to be getting the calls right in the first place much more often. Obviously we all still get frustrated with some calls, but that happens in every major sport and in every league. I think that reviewed plays have helped bring accountability and the results are clear. Thoughts?

Why are they building a stadium that holds 33,000 fans when they are regularly putting 32,000 bums in the seats right now. Anyone doubt that they'd easily sellout a 40,000 seat stadium?

40,000 would be a stretch. If need be, they'll be able to expand i.e. expandable up to 50,000 for Grey Cup.
