I'm fairly certain college players don't go to training camp so I'm guessing it's after the Rookie camp

FYI, the sources for that information:

Berger invite

Ambrosia invite

Note: Teams call the June/July camps different things, most call it a development camp. Some teams have a rookie camp right before the main training camp starts.

The summer development/prospect camps in June/July - NCAA players attend, but yes, per NCAA rules, some caveats but they pay their own way to attend unlike other players. Some NCAA players do not attend due to the financial issues and/or because they are in summer school. NCAA players typically do not attend the fall camp because they are back on campus most already having started classes.

Not sure when Merrill said he would make his decision, but I'm assuming after rookie camp, and not training camp.

The guy I'm most looking forward to see is Eric Gelinas. Had a fantastic rookie-pro season, and should be one of the best defenseman at camp.

Definitely.

Hard not to get excited about him after an impressive rookie campaign. He had a very strong second half in the A. Would like to see him have a great camp and give the staff a hard decision on whether or not to send him back.

Ultimately, he's going to have to wait because of how many good d-men we have signed, but if there are injuries him and Urbom will be at the top of the list.

Ambrosia: 5 feet 9 inches, put up pretty good numbers in his second USHL season with Youngstown. 18-47-65 in 60gp. Could be a good offensive player in the AHL, but he hasn't exactly played against tough competition yet.

Berger: 6 feet 2 inches, put up ok numbers in his second ECAC (Princeton) season after one unimpressive season each in the USHL and ECAC. I was gonna say "the next George Parros" () but his PIMs are pretty low. He's also 22 already.

This is one event I wouldnt want opened to the public, so I cant fault them for not doing so.

In general, however, it's ridiculous how little access the fans get to Devils practices. Must be one of the worst in the league in that capacity. Hell, more than a few Canadian clubs have open practices, and if Canuck teams can do it you cant tell me American teams cant.

Zajac, Brodeur, and Kovy for Luongo.

We lose about half the scoring we still have left, and our beloved legendary franchise goaltender, but at least we have a 9 year solution in net, and don't have to worry about a starting goaltender until 2022 or whenever that contract ends!

Tedenby, Pesonen, and Hoeffel will replace the voids left by Zach, Trav, and Kovy!

Actually forget those 3. Trav, Kovy, Zach, and Petr will be replaced by 4 of the hardest working forwards in the rookie camp!

Yeah, but it wasn't.

Does Pete conduct the camp this year? I know he wasn't hired yet last year until the week after it. Wonder if Sarge is there again.

Is Ambrosia a Delbarton product or am I out to lunch right now?

I dont remember any year when the head coach ran the camp. I believe it was always the asst. Coaches and AHL coaches.

Lou the scouting staff and head coach watch from up top.

Another FA invite to NJD camp according to twitter updates. Marcello Ranallo, F, UConn/NCAA hockeydb profile, just completed 4th season at UConn.

I know there was all this talk about how Gelinas hadn't finished growing when we drafted him at 6'4. Has he grown anything since?

Graham Black tweeted that he was with J.T. Barnett, who attended camp last year, so I'm guessing he got invited back.

Parros didn't have high PIMs either, fighting is not permitted in college hockey. Hasn't stopped him from becoming an effective enforcer in the NHL.

I don't know if he's any taller, but he has put on some weight. When he was drafted, he was listed at around 180-190 lbs by the sources I've seen. Now I see him listed at 205 lbs.
