I wanted him to play here again, but he signed with Detroit. I have no interest in having a retired player make a return on this team. All I can think of is Peter Forsberg, yeah that ended well for Colorado.

I like Mondano, but he talks too much. He supposedly said the Sharks offered him something, which leaves me conflicted, because they're my second favorite team

I said this in another thread on the Sharks board, but I think Reiss stumbled on an old article.

His tweet mentions ESPNDallas and that Modano is 40. The only article referencing Modano and the Sharks from ESPNDallas is this one:

http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nhl...ory?id=5367329

Which is two years old and says Modano is 40. Modano is 42.

Ah ok. That relieves me some. I'm not apposed to him doing any broadcasting work, but that's not up to me.

Let him play pre-season; then he can realize he lost his drive and heart to compete, and then he can get cut from the final NHL roster and retire a North Star.

I don't think it would be cool to see him play for them simply because he is done, not even a fraction of the player he once was and would likely bring little to the table. If anything maybe they could offer him a coaching position.

I wonder if he's just thinking about a 1-game deal. He is at 1,499 NHL games played, and reaching 1,500 would be quite a big deal. He could suit up for one home game, play a few minutes on the 4th line, say goodbye in the city that he started in, then re-retire the next day as a member of the exclusive 1,500GP club.

Why are people still speculating? He confirmed this is a false report.
