Yea I think the Avs possible uncertain over Stastny in a couple years might have played into this a bit. They needed another playmaker type as it is for Duchene, and for the team especially if Stastny leaves.

If he can be 80% as awesome as Bruno was I'd be a happy camper.

Well...NHL Live went to commercial break and said that Parenteau would be on after, but instead they're talking to Sullivan.

PA Parenteau Highlights from NHL Live interview

-Said that Avs "showed a lot of interest from the get go", believed that they were a "good fit for him".

-Avs are a "good organization with a lot of young guys"

-Excited to come to Colorado with Duchene, O'Reilly and Landeskog

-Said it was "important to find a team with good Centers", and that he could tell that he was the Avs' "Plan 'A'"

-He does feel that he has a lot of "good hockey" left in him, and is excited to bring it to Colorado

-Lastly, the bunny that he shared with Zenon Konopka is still in NY with Zenon? (weird story)

Absolutely! That means he's putting up points...setting up goals, making plays. Sounds good to me.

Not sure if this was posted on one of the million pages here lately, but NHL.com has really developed a great archive of clips the last few years with video finding it's way onto the internet more and more.

As a result their player pages have video clips of all the goals scored in their archive the last few years, and it's a great way to get to know a new player on your team.

IMO PA is a very underrated goal scorer. He seems to have a knack for finding open ice, and has a very accurate shot.

what are we expecting from PAP? 50 points at least, I'd say. We are paying him 4 million per year after all.

It seems like whole hfboards expects terrible season from him

Yeah, I really don't get this. It's not like the team is putting Parenteau next to Mitchell... he's going next to Duchene more than likely. Duchene and JT are not miles apart from each other. ...whatever. Anywhere above 50 points and I will be pretty happy. 55+ would be preferred, 60 would be great. Meh, too early to guess.

PAP is probably going to exceed the expectations people have of him (judging by what I read in that other thread).

The man has been underrated his entire career is seems, and each time he thinks he's going to settle into a team, he got traded. lol

I'm optimistic about this guy, and Sherman & Co. might come out looking very smart once more.

I think he's probably the most excited about stability. Knowing he has a 4-year deal, he can actually just focus on hockey and not worry about getting traded for scraps or where his role on the team is since he's going to be a key cog moving forward.

Meh, I don't have high expectations...especially if he ends up on Duchene's wing. Yeah, that's me showing my lack of confidence in Matty's progression.

Still cannot believe that Colorado spent so much on Parenteau. Unless they needed to get to the floor.

He's a 60+ point winger who is getting paid 4m...how is that overpaying? Especially when seeing what some others have gotten this offseason.
