Matt Clackson

Washington signed Matt Clackson obviously to grab a spot on the Bears roster this year. Some people dub him as a "Joel Rechlicz replacement" but I don't think these two guys are comparable at all. Recker is a total team guy who seems to have the respect of many of the guys in the league while Clackson reminds me a lot of a guy who just wants to be a pain in the a$$, a cheapshot, and someone who tries to injure people on purpose. I don't like the signing at all and I was wondering if any Chicago Fans have any opinions on him because after seeing him with the Phantoms for years, I don't like him.

I thought he was fine. He played a role as a fighter and a guy who gets under the other team's skin. One of those guys you probably hate on the other team but don't mind on your team.

I doubt he would get a jersey every night, but I also doubt he goes to Reading. Right now the possible line combinations could be:

Forwards:
Taffe-Potulny-DiSalvatore
Galiev-Hamill-Beaudoin
Stoa-Carman/Other C possibly Sjogren-Kane
Clackson-Carman/Other C-Mitchell

Pope
Almedia
Civitarese

Defense:
McNeill-Marshall
Kundratek-Schilling
Wellar-Stafford

Brouillette
Flemming
Olesky

Goaltenders:
Grubauer
Sabourin

Would a very comparable player minus the fighting be Louis Robitaille?

Don't know. Not familiar with Robitaille's work. He has always played out east.

Haha you must have been lucky then. Robitaille was an extreme pest who would take a lot of penalties but also make a guy go nuts. Almost everyone in the league hated him unless he was on your team.

I'd say that is Clackson to a tee.

Robitaille is much dirtier and a way better agitator. Clackson is a more honest tough guy, but lacks the size of Rechlicz.

I'd agree with this. Clackson wasn't that dirty, the worst he did was jump a guy after they boarded a teammate.
