Jason Arnott

What would people think of arnott centering are top line on a cheap 1 year deal. He did score 17 last year and is a big body that will still go to the net. Would it work out ?

We would need to make room for him, but I'd love Arnott. 1-2 forwards would need to be moved out.

Isn't he a bit slow to be a top line center now?

If the Flames signed him, I don't think it would be with the intent to solve our #1C problem. But I could see him getting spot time with the usual rotation method that we've been accustomed here in Calgary.

not sure he could log enough minutes for a top line guy. he's a 3rd liner now.

He wouldn't much of an improvement. Definitely would have some things to bring to the team like size and RH shot but nothing much else.

No! He is not an upgrade on Cammy except abit on faceoff ability. He would be a perfect 3rd line center if we didn't already have Stajan/Backlund.

You don't want Arnott as your 1st line center. He was really slowing down in the playoffs last year when he was the 3c all season, and that was after he was given a few games off at the end of the season. He's still capable of being a good 3C somewhere, I wish he and Hitch would've gotten along a little better. He still has a good shot and will go to the net.

How is he at the circle? We have some size issues down the middle, I wouldn't be opposed to giving him a 1 year deal to center our 2nd/3rd line, but only if we can move out Stajan first.

Tanguay Cammalleri Iginla
Glencross Arnott/Cervenka Hudler
Baertschi Cervenka/Arnott Stempniak
Comeau Backlund Jackman

Depending on moves going forward. No room ATM.

If we move stajan and another forward, sure, he'd work there.

Well we have soooo many forwards competing for a spot coming September, what's one more contract? Let's just have an all out battle royal in the fall to decide who gets a spot.

"30 forwards competing for 13 spots..... Who will come out on top?!"

I demand that we use a steel cage and skates are allowed

That's straight up, some hardcore grudge-match **** right there. While wearing a goalie mask, that's a chainsaw away from the real live version of Mortal Kombat. I like it!

Flames finally got there average team age down to a reasonable level compared to the rest of the league - Arnott would ruin that and for this reason alone; Flames should stay away
