Started a new job on Monday for Manhattan Beer Distribution, delivering. Picked the busiest week of the year to start. On Tuesday started at 5:30 AM and didn't get home til 8PM, fun fun fun.

Will be joining this thread next week. Think I have 4 days of PTO left, so using those, then never returning. Hopefully they actually pay them out, but we'll see... **** this place.

Quit my lab job that I started last August. They promised a raise and a promotion months ago. Then told me they can't do it because the company can't afford it. Well **** you. Place was terribly run and let people get away with everything and get nothing accomplished. Tired of that **** anyways so that was the push I needed to get out of there.

What to do next..... No idea lol

I got a temp job as a data entry specialist through an agency for 9.50 an hour. I knew that they would be taking a large part of my pay check, I think regulars make like 13 an hour, but when I hear they were taking my holiday pay for the 4th I became pretty jacked. Probably never going to work through them again.

Is it a small business? A lot of small businesses run out of their homes to help with over head.

If you're being robbed, they likely won't want you to know where their home is.

Found out today that one of the sports jobs I applied for got over 500 applicants...I'm going to have to move mountains to get someone to so much as glance at my resume.

I still want this for myself, but it's hard to compete with that many applicants...assuming all of them are qualified, of course. My friend told me to think of it as some people applying just to say they did or were applying b/c they're fans of the team that posted the job, not because they could actually do it. It's a good way to look at things, but I still feel so overwhelmed by my competition.

I'm jobless currently. I could go to work for a week during the fall to this biannual sale in an appartment store where I have worked few times before. Only problem is that I already know that that week is going to be busy with parties where I want to go so I guess I have to skip the job offer this time .

Heard some of the regulars talking the other day & it looks like they never had any intention of hiring the temps. Once they are caught up out we go. I feel pimped.

So this is a bit of a change of pace, I just got fired and never thought it would feel so good. There is something about being forced to leave a job you hate that is so relaxing. Going from being Giles Cory to absolutely free is just so awesome!

Im getting sick of these ads that dont post their company name. "Please send cover letter"...how the hell do you send a cover letter if no one knows who the hell the company is? Idiots.

For idiots like these, they dont even deserve my info.

Usually I say "To Whom It May Concern" when something like that arises.

Actually, I just got my resume submitted to the HR department on this one company this morning. I talked to a guy last night, got my resume edited for the job and sent it back in and this morning it was submitted. Hopefully good things come of it.

Over the span of the last two years, I've been without a job for about a year and a half of that period, maybe slightly less.

Thankfully, I have a dull job that pays the bills right now, so I'm not hurting or anything, but still looking for better work more in line with what I actually want to do for a living rather than just a temporary job.
