He's actually pretty good, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a lot of games when Lehner goes through his inconsistent lulls.

Lehner will be playing at least 60 games in the A this year. I still think he'll be the best goalie at camp though

Well this is the year for Lehner to prove he's ready to be promoted to NHL backup. Bishop is up for a contract renewal after this season, so it'll be up to Lehner to force Murray's hand to make a decision.

I was literally going over Bingo options for the backup yesterday. I feel special.

Edit: Now I remember him. We played against him twice 2 years ago.

Well, let's start planning the parade boys.

Good depth move. Pushes Lehner while giving Bingo some more depth.

The "let's plan the parade" jokes are so stupid and overdone. This is solid depth signing. Assuming Lehner plays 55-60 games next season with another 5-7 in the NHL that leaves Lawson with a decent 20-25 games to fill in. He's certainly capable of that.

I think we even see him up with the Sens for a few games on injury replacement.

I realized that after I made the post, but the urge to include Batman in all things Sens was too good to pass up.

My apologies.

That was a dirty goal. And at least we know Lawson doesn't like to lose....

Didn't the sens destroy this guy one game. I think Spezza slapped one from a ridiculous angle on him.

Not sure how much Lawson is really going to "push" Lehner. Not much of a threat for starts... which is probably by design.

All things being said though, there are FAR worse AHL backups out there. The guy has put up some pretty respectable numbers in that league.

Definitely a guy we can trust to hold the Bingo fort if Lehner needs to do spot duty in the big league. All you ask for. Good signing.

At first I thought, da frick?

then I realised that actually, this signing doesn't mean much really... Just someone to "push" (and I use that word lightly) Lehner to going into BEAST mode for the whole season...

If Brust and McKenna can outplay Lehner then I don't see why Nathan Lawson couldn't.

The Lehnsanity is getting a bit silly around here.
