Will the Sens make the playoffs? No. (Injuries)
Best rookie for the Sens and what are your expectations in points and play? Silfverberg. 22 goals, 18 Assists, 40 points.
Biggest surprise? Bishop
Biggest bust/fail? Karlsson, he'll come down to earth a bit.
Any awards? Silfverberg might be in contention for Calder.

Wish this would have waited until after we know if Alfie is coming back or not.

Will the Sens make the playoffs? No. Won't be suprising teams next year. Team is also very young. 10th-12th in the East.

Best rookie for the Sens and what are your expectations in points and play? Silfverberg, top 6 minutes and 30 points.

Biggest surprise? Cowen. Solidifies himself into the top 4.

Biggest bust/fail? Latendresse. Doesn't stick in the top 6. Likely injured as well.

Any awards? No.

1. Sens fight for a playoff spot right up to the last week & get in again.
2. Silfverberg (45 pts) in contention for the Calder (rookie of the yr).
3. Turris has a big yr (50 pts) & Alfredsson is extended for another yr @ 5 mil.
4. Bishop, Wiercioch, Condra & Butler get traded, Sens trade for Chris Stewart RW.
5. Z. Smith & Greening have good yrs (35 pts for Smith & 45 pts for Greening).
6. Leafs still suck.

I agree. I think that Karlsson will once again hit at least 60 points with improved defense. That should easily give him another Norris nomination and possibly Norris win since he already has a reputation, haha.

Good to see so many people thinking the Sens will make the playoffs again. Confidence as a fan base is a great think to have.

They'll be in the mix for a playoff spot

If they do make the playoffs, it'll be similar numbers to this season. They won't advance past round one.

Silfverberg, decent two way game, adjusted to NA by end of the season, 30-40 pts

League-wide surprise may be Kyle Turris; many have written him off for never producing many points in Phoenix (although they neglect he's got a much better role in Ottawa). Sens-fanbase surprise may be Marc Methot, if he proves he's a top-4 shutdown guy.

Potentially Latendresse, if he doesn't stay healthy.

No major awards.

Also hate to be the ball-buster but JS's retort, hilarious as it might be, isn't passe around here. We're supposed to be family-friendly.

It gets around the filter because of players like Dick Tarnstrom, for what it's worth.

To the people thinking they don't make the playoffs next season, you really think we take a step back with Silfv/Zibby maybe/Methot/Latendresse/Bishop?

Very possible.

I said they make the playoffs because only Boston, Philly, NYR and Pitt are clearly ahead. Carolina, Buffalo and Tampa are similar. New Jersey and Washington are always there, Florida and Winnipeg you never know. Could go either way, but there aren't 8 teams you can definitively say are better.

A few extra Ls last year could've put us out of the playoffs. We haven't necessarily improved the roster much over last season, and last year nobody expected us to be a playoff team (we arguably overachieved). We could easily take a half-step back and have other teams take a shuffle forward and we'd miss.

Think about it from another perspective. Do you really trust the core of Latendresse, Spezza, Alfreddson, Phillips, Regin, Michalek, Methot, and Gonchar to make it though the season without missing significant time? Those players (Regin and Lats excepted) are our most important players. Our entire veteran portion of our top-6 and 1/2 of our top-4 is old and/or injury prone. Karlsson is the only significant player on this team that isn't a walking band-aide.

If Jason Spezza strains his back picking up groceries again, Kyle "29 point career high" Turris would be our top centre. That is beyond scary. Karlsson, while not injury prone, weighs less than 200lbs and is expected to play 20+ minutes on a playoff contender while attracting the worst intentions of every team we will play.

Next season could be a bloodbath. We could finish last.

Last season we were VERY lucky in terms of injuries, and could have easily missed the playoffs if it wasn't for that. We're far from a lock to make the playoffs. I'd give us a 50/50 chance next season.

Totally agree.

We could finish anywhere between 6-12. It is not like we got any better so far. We have a lot of question marks. But if everything clicks (Karlsson again with Norris play, our core injury free, Cowen takes another step, Latendresse and Methot fill in, Zib and Silf performing well), we'll be in the playoffs

Not many people are saying it, but I think Paul MacLean will be a nominee for the Jack Adams once again.

Will the Sens make the playoffs? We miss by about 5 points.

If yes: Points and how deep will they go? We finish at around 10th

Best rookie for the Sens and what are your expectations in points and play? Silverberg, about 35-40 pts. BoroCop will become a regular #6.

Biggest surprise? the Leafs make the playoffs... Also, breakout season for Turris.

Biggest bust/fail? Alfie but I really hope not

Any awards? Karlsson and Silfverberg will get consideration for an award but neither will win.

I'm basically hoping for a repeat of this year. That would make me happy.
