From what I have heard of Serville, he might be getting a little underrated here. I like the sounds of him more than Maxwell and Sol at this point personally.

My thoughts exactly. I've been voting for him since #15 (which I suppose is now #14, damn you Arturs Kulda).

Yeah if the 78th overall pick a year ago is really the 20th best prospect in the organization we have the best prospect pool in the history of hockey. Serville was drafted 40+ picks ahead of Yuen. I have no idea why nobody here seems to know anything about him but in reality, he's certainly a lot higher than 20th.

As have I. How Sol or Maxwell went ahead of him, I'm not so sure. But hey, I guess that's what makes these a bit fun. They aren't the be all, end all, by any means.

It's quite exciting that we'll see Trouba and Serville on the same blueline next season in Michigan.

"The ‘now’ is very good in Chicago. The ‘now’ back in the days when they were drafting first, second and third? It wasn’t very good. But the core of fans that stuck with them, if you asked them now, I betcha they’d say it was worth it.” - Kevin Cheveldayoff

Seems like 20 was a good place to stop. I have no idea who I would vote for at 21.

O'Neill for me.

I'm not at all impressed with Serville and feel he's a ways off in development. I get the feeling most people just look at draft ranking and go from there IMO.

Spoken like someone who knows more than a professional hockey team's scouting department.

The scouts aren't always right but one year from draft day I'm not prepared to go against them. I'm humble enough to know their opinions carry more weight than mine and we all know for a fact that last summer they liked Serville more than Yuen. Neither player had a significantly good or bad developmental season.

I'll stick with the professional opinion and hope they are right, knowing full well they may turn out not to be.

Some real unknowns left at this point, so I gotta go with the flow and voted Brennan Serville.

As long as we can agree that both our opinions are just that, opinions.

I think Yuen had a better developmental year than Serville, even though he was drafted later than him. I know it's early in their development, but I see more from other prospects than I do of Serville right now. That's not to say he isn't ranked higher than the current rank (#20) on my own board

I went with Jordan Samuels-Thomas. I really like his game. He'll be a borderline 3rd liner at best, but he's got intimidation factor. Could replace Thorburn in a few years.

Dito. Did the same and I think he flies under a lot of peoples radar.

Servilles had a tough go injury wise but came back and had a nice end of the season (scored his first goal). Next year is a make or break season for him. With Merril, Trouba, etc out of Michigan if Serville stays healthy he'll develop nicely.
