New York Rangers 2012 draft review

The successful rebuild of the New York Rangers has been based on the identity of speed, grittiness, and character. Eleven of the roster players have developed in the system, and the Rangers are not afraid to promote young players at any time of the year. Although the point of having a system through which prospects develop is to graduate them to the NHL roster, sustained success can leave a system needing replenishment.

Leslie, it is interesting that you say the Rangers were interested in trading up for a goalie. I remember that you picked Andrei Vasilevskiy in the HF mock draft. Since you have some inside information, why not ask. Is it Vasilevskiy that the Rangers were trying to pick or Malcolm Subban and who were they trying to trade with and who or what were they going to trade? Great work as always Leslie. Thanks.

Great article Leslie. The potential of Calle Andersson really intrigues me. I think he has the potential to be a gem.

Thanks Leslie. It was a great draft for NYR, IMO.
