Looks like the Sixers by acquiring another expiring contract are going to be in position to potentially make a splash next year in free agency. Iggy if not moved this year has an opt-out clause I believe after this year. They still got two guys on one year deals that will help them this season (whether that's a good thing in the long run remains to be seen). They also have young pieces that could be included in a trade for a star player. Hopefully the Sixers have finally figured out that you need star players to compete.
Monta Ellis (opt-out)
Tyreke Evans (RFA)
All potentially available

I read somewhere that Collins said he wants the starting lineup of Holiday, Turner, Iguodala, Hawes, Brown. But with the lack of a player who can run the offense coming off the bench, maybe Turner should come off the bench and Nick Young or Wright should start at SG.
Ha. I graduated high school with Wayns so I'd love that. He's playing summer league with Orlando and I think he might ended up going to camp with them.
Yeah he looked good with Orlando last week. He's playing in the Vegas league this week with Golden State I think. He'll definitely get a training camp invite and I wouldn't be shocked if he made a roster this season.
Good call on Ivey. Don't quite know what he does for them though. Haven't seen him play much over the last couple of years. Would have rather taken a shot on a guy like Johnny Flynn.
He rode the Thunder's bench for two years after finishing 2010 in Milwaukee after we traded him in the Meeks deal.
He'll play like 20-30 games and be a veteran presence in the locker room. Not a bad 3 point shooter either. It seems they wanna try Turner at PG when Holiday's not on the floor. So he'll be the third stringer.
I just wanted a PG of any kind. So that if something happened to Holiday we don't have like Nick Young or Turner attempting to be the starting PG or having to sign someone off the street and starting them the next day.
They still might sign someone like a Pullen to the active roster, I think, and have em play in the D-League to develop most of the year.

I like the Wayns signing (more for personal reasons, see above) hopefully he makes the team and they let him develop in the D-League while still getting in a few NBA games.
Yeah he was the guy I wanted them to take a look at. At Villanova he was looked at as a scorer who wasn't a great shooter. I think in the summer league he showed he could be a true point guard. Looking forward to seeing him this season.
