When those glaring needs have a large impact on the rest of the roster, you can't blame him for being hesitant.

I don't think our scoring is a "glaring need", i think it's more of a system issue as i've said before. With how far back we collapse in our d zone that ends literally any opportunity for odd man rushes and transition offense which account for a substantial number of goals for offense productive teams. We need to tweak torts system a little to allow for more transition opporunities and odd man rushes. Puck possession teams like NJD last year killll us due to our sit back and block shots game.

Refusing? Hardly. Who is there to sign, aside from Semin? And even with him, there are glaring issues.

We don't play that system because we have very poor possession and no transition game. Torts is playing to what his team has. We don't have the skill to play like that.

A large impact is exactly what this roster needs, i.e. and infusion of skill.

Then we should push for whatever is available. After making the Eastern Conference finals you can't say "oh well, let's not improve" because there's a lousy market.

Refusing? Glaring needs?

There are no reasonable options out there at the moment. Its not like rival teams are making major moves that will put them
ahead of us. And this team could use more offense. They will compete regardless.

That's a really short-sighted way of looking at things. Besides, there aren't any good options in this market. So why sign someone? Because it looks nice on paper?

Pyatt and Asham are good enough additions. Address the scoring issue through trade, which Sather is doing. It takes time.

It's like, dating the fat chick because all her hot friends are taken. Same logic.

Pass on the fat chick. Semin, is the fat chick.

That's not even close to accurate. Semin is one of the hottest chicks, who just happens to be a tremendous *****.

Fat chick jokes are a gateway jokes to more offensive ones. Ask Cam Janssen.

Then you go for the one night stand instead of the commitment. If she wants the commitment, move on.

Analogies are fun.

I'd love a 2/10 deal for Semin. He'll be off the books before anything major happens.

Definitely would be for it.

Not sure the Rangers brass sees it that way, though.

yea they dont like him, Torts will kill him, other teams are staying away too. Patience is a virtue, this team was first in the East and still very young. Same team is not a bad thing.

I want Sather to either keep the same crew or find a bold deal involving Dubi, AA for a top 6 LW

It's pretty clear the Rangers have no interest. I think Zip and Cerny both said "Rangers have no interest in Semin."

Why not? Doesn't he fit like a glove in the Ranger Defensive system?

If he signs for 2/10 in this market then I would say that no one else has much of an interest in him as well.
