Sharks re-sign D Matt Pelech
Thought this was worth posting, didn't see it anywhere else. Don't know anything about this guy, is he any good? Any chance of him getting called up next season?

210 and the other AHL guys will be thrilled. They love Pelech. Supposedly he has a shot at the #7 spot. Especially if Murray is moved.

Yeah, that huge cheer you heard was just about every WorSharks fan
I don't know if he's an everyday NHLer, but Pelech is certainly the kind of guy you want around in certain spots...

He and Olli Jokinen should have a contest of who can stare into empty soulless eyes the longest.

Interesting to think about a comparison between Petrecki and Pelech. Both late first round picks that haven't made (Pelech being drafted a couple years earlier by Calgary). Both supposed to be bruising defensive defensemen. You wonder if Petrecki goes to another organization, does he end up developing to the level of finally being a 7th defenseman/first callup.

Calgary gave up on him way too early. He has a huge upside and will be a banger for years to come. Congrats on the deal Matt!

Good thing too, as his options were running out after BK let him go

I'm so saving this thread to show him when he's back in Worcester... he enjoyed the Burger King one particularly so far.
But on a serious note, if he plays anything close to how he played toward the end of last season, I can't imagine him not getting some games in San Jose. He plays solid defense and is an absolute monster.
