Just started a career with Montreal. I updated the rosters to this day, so I have Prust, Bouillon, Colby.

Made a few moves right off the bat:

-Fired goalie coach Pierre Groulx and hired Patrick Roy. (Probably my future coach if Therrien ****s up)

- Hired Pierre McGuire as scout

-Claimed Craig Adams off waivers and traded a 3rd round pick in 2008 for Scott Hannan.

-Released a bunch of useless AHL Players.

Right now I'm really looking into finding a 1st line Right Winger, I feel like I will never make the playoffs if I don't do it. If you guys have any suggestions go for it
I really don't know what to do with Scott Gomez. I might give him a shot, he had a pretty good training camp. If he completly sucks after a couple of games I'll dump him in the minors to help the young guys.

Here are Michel Therrien's lines:

Bourque-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
Adams-Eller-Prust
Moen-Desharnais-Armstrong.

Kaberle-Subban
Gorges-Markov
Hannan-Emelin

Price
Budaj

Scratches: Bouillon,White,Nokellainen.

Seems like I have too much centers ...I'll try to get a real 4th liner like Gaustad. Desharnais is ****ing horrible in this game :S I'll change his attributes with the data editor.

How do I fix this? Is it possible to simply break into the save file somehow and put Perron back on my team? He ended up signing with the Rangers...
I believe it has to do with "experience" that they give players when they edit them. I believe they leave as an unsigned prospect instead of sitting in restricted free agency. I clued them into this a while ago and I haven't had a problem since...but maybe I just haven't put myself into such a position in a while either...

Just started a default rosters game with a fantasy draft.

After having a little cap trouble at the beginning of the season, I've decided to mortgage the team's future and go for the cup this year.

I started off by bolstering the defense. With Pronger, Stuart, and Kronwall in place, I added Salei, Seidenberg, and Rozsival through trade, and managed to pick up Lyle Odeline off of waivers mid-season.

Now that I'm nearing the trade deadline, I decided to start loading up on offense. After adding Danny Briere through a trade, my top line is Briere - Spezza - Hossa. With the addition of Briere, my 2nd and 3rd lines have become stronger than ever, with Daniel and Henrik Sedin, Mike Knuble, Scott Walker, Wayne Primeau and Jason Blake. My bottom line has a little room for improvement though, with Mikhail Grabovsky, Patrick Sharp and Matt Cooke.

My goaltending is clearly the weak point, with Robert Esche and Mike Smith.

Anything short of a championship would be a disappointment.

Blockbuster ****ing deal for Montreal

Montreal GM Bergevin made a huge trade today. He acquired LA Kings winger and team captain Dustin Brown in exchange for Yannick Weber and a 3rd round pick in 2007. It was clear that Bergevin wanted to make a big statement by getting that top six winger. Now this team has no excuses to miss the playoffs. "The pieces are there, it's now up to them to show what they're worth" said Bergevin.

I have no idea how this deal was accepted :O . Their interest in Weber seemed pretty high (4 stars)

That's not their interest, IIRC. It's how your assistant GM values the player.

It wont let me start a new thread so ill ask here:

A few months ago there was a lot of hype about a new EHM type game coming out around Oct/Nov. i cant remember the name of it though but does anyone know what i am talking about.

When it first was mentioned it looked like it was going to be amazing!

Anyone hear anything on this game?

then why does it change for every team?

Example, Weber would have 4 stars with the Kings and 3 stars with another team.

Edit: yes I just checked. Offered Bouillon to the Sabres: ****, offered him to the Hurricanes: *** . The amount of stars is the interest of the other team towards the player.

It's your Asst. GM's guess on the other team's interest in the player.

OOTP goes hockey (WTHM). They are coding the game, but there's no update on the release, but many features that will be in the game can be found on their forums

Okay, it makes sense I guess. It leads pretty much to the same thing: the other teams interest.

My franchise defenseman - who is also the best defenseman in the league - doesn't like me. He is also going to be UFA at the end of the season. Meh.

Habs make the playoffs on last game of the season.

It was a game high in emotions for the Habs. They NEEDED that win against the Leafs and they had to hope for a Ottawa loss to clinch for the playoffs. And they did on a 3-2 win, and a 3-1 loss for the Sens. Team Captain Dustin Brown said after the game that he had no doubt that they were going to win. And they're ready for a battle against the dangerous Washington Capitals. Could we witness another upset like we saw two years ago when the Habs suprised the world of hockey by beating the Caps in 7 games? We'll see. Montreal GM Marc Bergevin is really glad his team showed that much character throughout the season. They had to face a lot of injuries to key players like Brown,Plekanec, Gorges and Markov. Carey Price gave his team a chance to win every night. He played over 75 games and isn't quite done yet.

Yeah I start in 2006, the CSD Patch makes my game crash everytime

Weber: got traded to the Stars later in the season for Sheldon Souray

Edit: made a huge trade at the draft. The Sabres had two top 10 picks. Got them in exchange for Desharnais, prospect Darren Dietz, my 1st pick (17 total), second round pick from Nashville and a 3rd and 4th picks in 2011

With these picks I drafted Morgan Rielly and Griffin Reinhart. And with my second round pick I made a HUGE steal by drafting centre Bent Benson. According to my head scout he has a 1st line potential

Reinhart and Reilly !!! That's a mean pairing.

I was screwing around the last couple days with a few different files. I made one with a 1998/1999 database and had a bit of fun then I did a fantasy draft with the original DB. Kind of fun to do the fantasy draft after having a few years of playing the game under my belt. I remember the first fantasy draft I did, I chose horribly.

Back to the main file tomorrow!

Any idea who this regen is? He's shot up my depth chart since being drafted 3 years ago and has first line potential according to my scouts. Absolutely dominated the QMJHL in his last two seasons there (100+ points, ~9.00 AvR).

13 consistency

Actually, reminds me of another Swedish winger I had in one of my older games. Might as well ask about him too.

20 consistency
