And I don't know what is hard to understand but when signing a contract for the NEXT 13 yes wouldn't a smart individual evaluate how a team is positioned for that time period rather than focusing on the PREVIOUS time period of '95-2003 when the Devils were so well positioned and winning.
Again2 40 yr old goalies with no heir apparent anywhere to be found...Elias also pushing 40 yes old and one of if not the worst and most shallow prospect pools as voted by every publication and then to top it off bankruptcy looming in the immediate future....try and spin it how you want but NJis not and will not be on solid footing for quite some time...a major rebuild has been long overdue.

1) NJ has always been a coaching carousel. We won 3 cups with 3 different coaches.
2)We may lack the overall depth in prospects, but we consistently churn out quality NHL players. We also get the absolute most out of our players. We also had Tedenby, Josefson, Henrique and Larsson graduate this past year.
3)Yes a major rebuild is long overdue, so overdue we skipped it and went back to the SC finals.
Why don't you worry about your team making the playoffs with your putrid defence instead of trying to re-write the Devils history to make them look worse than that ****hole of a franchise you cheer for?
