Whenever I go in that thread, I can't help but think of Custer's Last Stand. That one Devils fan just won't stop.

... Eventually he'll be overrun by the natives.

No more Parise thread on the trade board.

Can't say it's a bad thing.

Yep it's dead.

God those guys were just bitter as hell. You'd think Parise individually ran over every single one of their dogs.

Wait... THAT's what causes the lock? You mean days of "you suck!" and "no, YOU suck!" doesn't cause a lock, but the 3rd or 4th "Minnesota sucks, LOL" does?

I have to say, I'm confused...

They'd have to actually talk hockey to stay here, which doesn't seem likely to happen.

And no, don't go over there and antagonize.

That certainly seems like the smarter decision at this point.

In other news: Guess what guys? We got BOTH Parise AND Suter!

Fun facts from Elliott Friedman's article (I can't link sorry my work won't load it, but Google):

Parise took control of the situation because he wanted to either play for the Wild or NJ. He felt it would be better to play with the Wild WITH Suter than either without, so he went hard after Suter to sell him on it. Sounds like Detroit was going after Suter much harder than we were, but Parise took over. He then took a smaller contract so they would both get the same money. Anyone want to question him getting a letter?

I can think of a vocal minority of a certain team's fanbase that still would.

Otherwise, that's really awesome. I don't think there's a single bit of news about this that could sour my opinion on the outcome. But more and more news keeps coming out that improves my opinion.

Can we fast forward the next few months? August and September are going to be intolerable...

I heard Detroit pissed off Suter by showing up at his doorstep when he specifically asked that no teams personally try to persuade him.

I hadn't heard that Detroit was guilty specifically, but I had heard, from more that one source, that he had explicitly stated "this is why I have an agent, contact him.".
