The time is coming to try it, especially given the daily revelations of the effects of long-term concussions. Personally, I don't buy the old-school notion that stick-work would become rampant. If the officials call the penalties and the league assesses harsh retribution for stick-work it will be a better, safer game.

There is no fighting in the Olympics and rarely in the Stanley Cup playoffs and you get fantastic hockey.

Bottom line, try it and if it doesn't work for whatever reason you can back off and allow fighting.

i will say the staged fight rule is stupid because it does not prevent staged fights all you haveto too do is skate around for a bit after you step on the ice. the enforcers are working around it.

This should be huge breakout year for Ritchie. One of the dominant 4 last year along with Domi, Kujawinski and Ekblad. Looking for Ritchie to put up big numbers.

Where else would they have gotten Kitchener's 2nd in 2014 and 2016?

I've been trying really hard to get to more Petes games, but it's sad when you plan around teams that are coming to Peterborough. My buddies and I will make a trip to the memcenter when big names are coming (or Leaf prospects). It's just too bad the team can't be a little more competitive. Really sucks to see guys like Austin Watson and Matt Puempel just refuse to play here.

I'd love to see them aquire Brett Ritchie, but who knows if there's actually any substance to that rumour.

I wish they would concentrate more on making a better OHL product, than bringing in Elton John and Nickelback for concerts. Like almost every year I'll watch some games on CHEX. Doubt I'll actually go to a game unless it's worth going to. Not gonna waste my money on a ****** product. I'm really hoping the return for Puempel ends up better than we got for Watson. I do like a couple of the OA aquisitions, and there is still lots of summer for this team to change it up.

I never knew there was a Petes thread here, I usually just lurk the forums for NHL prospect info. I joined because I thought it'd be pretty cool to talk about the Petes. Very interesting seeing some legit insiders for the Petes. I'm not very knowledgable on the rookies, since I really only follow NHL, AHL, and the Petes. Love the updates and mini-scouting reports on some of our younger guys.

Anyways, this was more of an intro post. I hope to get into the Petes a lot more. Unfortunately it'll probably depend on the on-ice product.

Welcome to the board! I think many people will be suprised with the on-ice product this season... We deserved a better fate then what we got last season.. Its hard on a team to remove your #1 D-Man who plays 35 minutes a night! I expect if all goes well to be fighting for home ice in the playoffs.

C- Seymour/Koekkoek

A- Seymour/Koekkoek

Seems reasonable, did Menard and Findlay wear A's in Guelp/SSM? What if we aquire B.Ritchie? Did he wear a letter?

B. Ritchie wore an A with the Sting last season prior to being traded.

I don't remember Findlay wearing a letter in his time here. Dubchak was captain and the two OA dmen (Schwindt and Rogalski) were the A's last year. He may have worn it a game or two when guys were suspended/injured but I don't recall any.

Even with the ritchie deal....

The Petes are still looking for top 6 help. A couple 95's are on the block to try and get it done too.

Makes no sense to spend as much as he has to not try and win this season..

He's definitely in go for it mode, you don't spend as much as he has on veterans that won't be returning in 2 years unless you are. He's just foolishly confident in the goaltending.

D'Agostini was decent before the team was depleted by injuries, I'm sure Reid's giving him an opportunity to start the year and will make a move to upgrade later if he needs to.

Half the team could be gone in 2 years, no question he's going for it.
