Assuming he's gonna play most in the AHL unless he comes out guns blazing? Think this because like a lot of others here, thought he need more meat on his bones/mental readyness

No. He might get a 9-game tryout and then will be sent back to juniors.

Ah. So pretty much management locked it down for sure. Either way happy to see him signed

We could see Grigorenko on the Amerks next season. If he goes back to juniors he can join the Amerks when the season is over. He could make quite the addition if the Amerks can get into the playoffs.

I'd expect the Remparts to make a deep run (possibly to the Memorial Cup) if Grigorenko goes back though, so he might not be available for the AHL playoffs.

Maybe. Obviously it was a hypothetical assuming the Amerks outlast them.

That's not true. He could be a Sabre this year. It's all conjecture at this point.

They let 55 year old players sign a 3 year ELC?

That Pegula money, feels sooooooo good. To never be worried about not signing or re-signing players because of money anymore.

(yes, they were all 20 or older)

I guess I don't understand why the agreement preventing CHL players under 20 from playing in the AHL would remain in place during a lockout.

but im slow when it comes to this stuff
The players are signed to CHL contracts. I don't recall the exact details but I believe it gives the CHL their exclusive rights for 4 years or until their junior eligibility expires. From a CHL point of view the agreement allows players age 20 or over to play in the AHL rather than prevents those less than age 20 from playing. It's basically a transfer agreement.

LOL regarding same watch, same shirt.

As a watch enthusiast myself, I noticed his watch in that photo first thing.

Shortly, he will have plenty of money to acquire a more complete wardrobe and an extensive collection of fine Swiss timepieces.

I hope he makes it, and they better give him a fair shot to make the big club.I don't want them to already have their minds made up prior to training camp about sending him back to the Q, if he is one of their top 12 forwards then they have to keep him up here.I have a feeling though he will impress in training camp.

Waiting for presser audio still, but Joe B of WGR tweeted this about a half hour ago.

Regier says Grigorenko will have every opportunity to make the roster outright this year.
That sounds like a general comment that any gm would make, but I'm confident Regier and Ruff will give Mikhail a fair shake.

He didn't look ready based on my viewing at prospect camp. Hopefully he's hitting the gym hard for the next two months.

The agreement itself isn't in the CBA, but it is referred to in the CBA.

The agreement is expiring at the same time as the current CBA and will apparently be collectively bargained, though.

Weird
Well, it's an agreement independent of the CBA.
If they don't get a new one done before the new CBA, I guess there's a chance that players would be free to move wherever they please.

Also, the numbers on this look to be $1,775,000 ($925,000 + $850,000).
That's max base salary plus full A bonuses.
If he's sent back, that number will change slightly because the signing bonus in year one falls off and is no longer part of the calculation.

Edit: Forgot the source because my piece of **** computer blue screened while typing this.

That's what I meant, just wasn't very clear. Thanks for the clarification.

If he makes the NHL this year, I think it's fair to assume he'd get sheltered minutes like Ennis did last year, while Ennis will have to step up and face tougher competition.

Don't yell and scream at him if he's not Doug Jarvis. Don't harp on him to shoot the puck in and get a cycle going. Don't force him to play along the boards at Left wing. don't play him 10 minutes a game.

Either play him at center and let him get used to the NHL speed, develop his offense, take your lumps defensively .Or send him back to Quebec. The kid can be a bigger faster Pierre Turgeon. Or he can go backwards like Filatov.

He's not eligible for the AHL this year (since he was drafted out of the CHL). Either the Sabres or Remparts. If the Amerks' season lasts longer than Quebec's, he could join the team then.

I'm leaning 70/30 Quebec over Buffalo. He's got a lot of filling out to do and with their track record of usually taking a slow cooking approach with their prospects, he'll have to wow them to win the spot out of camp. Not that he can't, especially if he finds some early chemistry with one of Pominville or Vanek in the early week of camp.
