Looks like a competitor or a creepy guy? You decide.

"It's hard to root for your team, and try to help your team, be part of the team, when you're just sitting. (Tuesday) night we lose, so now I get a chance. If we keep winning, I don't get a chance."

It didn't sit well with a lot of fans, and I daresay with management & the coaches too.
It was blown out of proportion by Dater and some Avs fans. N

Not really. Quincey has similar cap hits to EJ, Salo, Liles, Brewer, Schenn and Stuart. Enstrom is on a fantastic deal as is Orpik. But Quincey is right on par or better than all of those guys I mention first. Some are better at certain parts of the game but I don't think any of them are as well rounded. EJ probably is and will likely be better though.

Take a look at the going rate for under-30 top-4 defensemen and both of Qunicey and Ericsson's contracts are perfectly fair value.

For every one of those "overpayments" we have an equally large underpayment on the books. Howard and Helm right above 2 million, Filppula at 3 million and Kronwall at 4.75 million.

Filppula at 3 million is a joke. Hudler gets 4 million and he ain´t Filppula. Not even close.

Because Holland would've ended up giving far more dough in the offseason for a defender, as we've clearly seen with the Carle/Wideman signings.

Plus Detroit doesn't draft all that well in the first round. Smith and Kronwall the only good picks they've made in the 21st century.

Let's not pretend like Eric Johnson has exactly lived up to his hype. Aren't we still waiting for him to break out of his shell and become that elite defenseman we all thought he was going to be? I'm rooting for him just so you know.

He doesn't need to be a Norris candidate to be better than Quincey. KQ wishes he could grow up to be like EJ one day.

What's that, the biggest waste of a 1st overall in the last 12 years?

They are almost the same player statistically (obviously not the only part of the game) but there isn't that big of a gap between the two.

Quote:
But don’t let Valterri Filppula’s box score statistics fool you – the Wings were dominated when he was on the ice. There were only three forwards dominated as badly or worse than Filppula but strangely they were the ones getting some of the most sheltered ice-time in the entire league, depth winger Jan Mursak, rookie Cory Emmerton and famed veteran Tomas Holmstrom.

^Where is that quote from? In the playoffs Flip played like ****, but his line rarely got dominated in the regular season. I don't know what the hell his deal was in the post season.

I don't think he is that bad to be honest but I don't get how he is that much better than Hudler

5.5M for Carlson would be fair, seeing the going rate for top 4 defensemen these days.

Willie Mitchell-$3.5 mill cap hit the next 2 years.
Kyle Quincey-$3.775 mill cap hit the next 2 years.

Just sayin'.

Those charts are garbage. Filppula is three times the player Hudler is. It's not even close.
