Prospect poll, 2012: #6

Another pretty good fight for the #5 spot. It gets taken by a guy who almost certainly just lost his job to Brookbank for the upcoming season, but we'll see.

Dylan Olsen

#1: Brandon Saad, LW (81.82%)
#2: Teuvo Teravainen, LW/C (59.62%)
#3: Mark McNeill, C (48.00%)
#4: Jeremy Morin, LW (36.84%)
#5: Dylan Olsen, D (40.74%)

Remember to suggest names if you see prospects you want on the list. I think we'll start going to two days now for the rest of the way.

Pirri rather easily IMO. One of the few guys who could make an impact soon.

danault.

...seriously, he should have been voted off the list already. not gonna lie - re chl, i tend to prefer OHL and then WHL players over Q players...but i think Danault deserves more attention than he gets.

I'm split pretty evenly between Pirri, Danault and Clendening so I'll go Clendening to even it all up.

Danault, Clenny, Kayes

they have the highest potential left.
Danault looks like he will reach it and can make an impact.

I went with Kayes this time

Hutton is not a prospect

it's Pirri. His numbers on a terrible Rockford team cannot be ignored.

it's good to have 1 of Kayes, Clenny, Pirri or Danault ranked as your #9 prospect.

Still have some good options left after that with Johns, Holl, Fournier at D - Beach, Jayes, Calnan at O - Simpson, Carruth, Mattsson and Whitney as solid/good goalie prospects

I really dont understand how anybody can rank a player like TT when maybe two people on theses forums have actually seen him play outside of a couple scrimmage games.......

You really don't? It's not that hard, actually. You take into account the kind of player he is from other scouts' writings, factor in the quality of the league he is playing in, get a sense of his physical attributes and mental temperament, and project from there.

I don't have to watch Tiger Woods to know, from his performances in the past and his first round this year, that he is a threat to win the British Open this season, simply because I know golf, and what it takes to be successful in professional golf, how the Royal Lytham & St. Annes plays, and the judgements and predictions of 'experts' whose opinions I feel are valuable. I may not be right, but I'll probably have a rather higher hit rate than someone who relies solely on first hand knowledge. Optimally you have both, but you are underestimating the value of large volumes of third hand knowledge.

I remember after Danault was drafted that most people hated the pick now everyone seems to love him. This board is so fickle.

Anyway, I went with Johns.

Tough choice here. I can't vote but I'll take Brandon Pirri because he has proven the most. I think 5-10 are pretty interchangeable with Kayes, Johns, Clendening, Danault, Pirri, Beach, ect.
