It must be exciting to be a Flyers fan, it seems you guys are in on every top superstar.
I honestly think they do it intentionally. Every summer, Flyers are all over the news. Making huge trades, signing/making offers on huge free agents. They make it interesting all year long. Love it
I always thought they had to match the exact offer sheet that was signed.
I wonder if Nashville's fax machine is smudge free?!
Yea this is what I believe is the case too. EJ Hradek tweeted about this last night and said they had to match the same contract, they can't reconstruct it.
Don't think this will matter. Nashville will match because they simply can't afford not to. I don't think the money comes into play as much as people think, they were willing to keep Suter as similar numbers.
This is a crazy lineup. I am not an expert on LTIR, but if they LTIR Pronger could they get another forward? Cap space is just shy of $1 million without putting Pronger on LTIR.

I took Mez off the team because I am 90% sure he will be traded if they don't match.

Was Nashville's official numbers ever released about how much they offered Suter? People are saying this but I never seen any confirmed report they put an offer out there like other teams were (i.e 90-100 million) It could have been them trying to save face with the whole ordeal. I could be wrong though, but you really don't hear anything about their "substantial" offer to Suter. Only the other teams that were involved.
I love interruption of CBA talks for #Flyers ballpark offer of 110M to #Preds Weber. His AAV offer lower than 8M but higher than Suter 7.5M

This just seems fishing.
12 years and 90 million was a roundabout that was floating around

I am thinking Weber is @ 8.5 mil - and I posted a roster in the roster thread which leaves all the D - minus Pronger(10% going over) and space of 2mil +
Have a look - I also didn't sign Vora for over 4... but the space is there for that too on my roster.

After thinking about this more, I am also beginning to think that we get Weber, but at a cost other than 4 1sts a la what Melzer suggested this morning.
The reality is that the Preds were already shopping Weber per Dreger, so obviously the notion of losing him is something they've considered. Clearly the 4 1sts isn't nearly enough, but would voracek, mez, cousins and 2 1sts be enough to soften the blow.

They have the stance that they never got the chance to match what the Wild gave Suter.
Bill Meltzer was speculating that the Flyers could turn around and trade back for some or all of the draft picks a la Chris Gratton. Meszaros/Voracek/Gustafsson for 2 1sts might be something they're interested in.
