Philly fans; I have been reading Mez is the likely one to be gone, any chance Coburn could be had? Oilers should be interested. Holmgren is an awesome GM, never boring in Philly.

Actually, couldn't they just trade Meszaros/Voracek/Gustafsson and the 2 1sts? I know they can arrange trades instead of draft pick compensation

I'd be pissed if they traded Coburn.

I'm aware of that and we've seen that many times (nobody said Jagr ) but I still believe that it'd have to be some insane (for him, I think more than 5,5?) amount. I was re-watching the series last weekend and can't imagine him being in one locker room with Crosby or Letang. Only Vokoun could make that easier for him

RT @capgeek: The #Predators are further from the #NHL cap floor than any other team — $13.3M with RFAs Kostitsyn, Wilson, Radulov.

Prior Club, which offer the player desires to accept, he shall
give to the Prior Club a completed certificate substantially in
the form of Exhibit 6 attached hereto (the "Offer Sheet"), signed
by the Restricted Free Agent and the New Club, which shall
contain the "Principal Terms" (as defined below) as well as all
other terms of Compensation of the New Club's offer. The Prior

It's genius, and works for both franchises.

If weber signs it:

1.Preds can match and the preds have weber for life if they want

2.The flyers get webber, and nash gets compensation in the form of picks or players in lieu of picks. It's like a sign in trade in the NBA, this way homer trades for weber with a contract already in place, brilliant.

One of my favorite animals.... I've been nicknamed that over 10 years ago - love it.

Let's Go Flyers!

"honey badgers are notorious for their strength, ferocity and toughness. They have been known to savagely and fearlessly attack almost any kind animal when escape is impossible, reportedly even repelling much larger predators such as lions." - much like Homer, king of the land

Out of the blue, Shea Weber for 14 years- part of the Flyers' overall plan which is no plan at all. Should Nashville not match, there go a bunch of first round picks and possible salary cap issues. Let's just stumble on from one year to the next, always competing, it seems, but never really contending.

They can't trade Weber for a year after matching the offer sheet.

They would decline to match the offer sheet, get compensation, and then work the deal. They would never match the offer sheet in this scenario.

Are you sure that bolded part is not intended in regards to trading the Right to another NHL Organization rather than trading the player himself?

I know. Thus, two separate transactions. One allowing Weber's contract to go to the Flyers, the other involving assets to balance out the first transaction.

If i were you guys, i'd be straight up pissed off with Holmgren
Yeah what a dumbass. Who would ever try to sign the best dman in the league who happens to be entering his prime?
