Would this give us two right handed shots from the point?

I am so sick of the hate he gets from Flyer fans. I love the hate he gets from outside Philly. I am sure Gary Bettman is loving the Flyers even more right now.

Isn't this just a Nashville-friendly structure? $14 million for the first four years. Why wouldn't it be structured with, let's say, $12 million salary $12 million bonus for the first couple of years, which would really be putting the squeeze on Nashville?

I wouldnt mind if the Flyers signed Weber and then traded Voracek, Mez, and Gus for 2 of our firsts back. We could then turn around and use the money saved by moving Mez and not signing Voracek to sign Doan.

Weber
Doan

for

Voracek
Mez
Gus
two 1st rounders

Considering how weirdly Bettman speaks when he's relaxed, I can't imagine how much he's stuttering right now

I'd like to see a player or two added in exchange for our 2014 pick back because the draft is in Philly that year.

Salary + bonus can't go over 20% of the cap in a year, so that's 14.04m

It's basically max for the first 4 years

TImonen-Weber
Coburn-Grossman
Meszaros-Schenn
Bourdon-Gervais (We have a fillin on leftD and RightD). Sick. I assume Lilja will be waived and picked up by another team filling out a roster.

crazy news to wake up to.

My guess is that if NSH doesnt match, a trade will be made in order to get at least one of our 1st round picks back and give NSH a defenseman. My guess would be Mez going the other way

I'm beginning to wonder as well.

Its certainly cap circumventing. Homer is dumb if it is.

Nope. Hegets $13 million right away, 1 million through the year then $13 million on July 1 next year. That is $27 million in one year.

Weber's deal is $110M over 14 years, including $68M in signing bonuses over first six years.

what? you realize that a signing bonus is due right at the start of the season, right? this is a terrible contract for NSH because they probably can't afford to immediately pay Weber $13m at the start of the next 4 seasons

This contract is legal by the rules of the CBA

Kovalchuk's contract took him til he was 44.. not 40
