1st year is $14M (1M salary 1st 4 years + 13M signing bonus)

Don't know if the Preds will pay that, but they kinda have to.

Yeah. because that '+' is the decider in this whole things. In 7 days we will find out I guess. Preds fans think this means he does nto want to be there. that is maybe the case but it is more likley he just wants fricking paid. I guess Philly has been trying to trade for him. if there were good componenets and picks in there and the Preds did not take it then Piole made a mistake me thinks.

Didn't say it's a bad deal now, did I?

Just eluding to what Bubba said, that he's impatient and always forcing things.

those guys need a contract soon. Giroux will get 3+ million more. Weber over Timonen would be 4 million more. Couturier + Schenn will get 2+ million more. Hartnell will get a long long term deal or 1+ million more or leave and couldn't be replaced.

They have 4 young guys in the NHL that are great. Hawks have that too

Poile could really suck it up with the Flyers. Match the offer then trade Weber to the Pens in 1 year

Check my post above, almost all of those guys are RFA's or UFA's in the next 2 seasons. If they get Weber they can't afford Voracek this season. Then Read, Courturie, Schenn, Giroux, Simmonds all need contracts that they can't pay.

I'm hoping Nashville doesn't match, a default division title would be nice

Timmo and Hartnell eat a ton of cap and they are both gonna walk.

Right, and now you'll have to replace them. They take up about $10 mil combined. Hartnell is one of the emotional leaders of that team and certainly he physical leader of that team. Letting him walk is going to hurt them badly.

I think St. Louis is also a division contender.

Yeah, no doubt. Vorocek needs to step up and fill his shoes, at least on the ice. If he doesn't and they are still lacking, then you deal him. I like Vorocek as a talent and he usually plays hard but it's time to take the diaper off and step up.

There's nothing wrong with being impatient if it wins Stanley Cups.

I don't really go for Holmgren's style of management, but he certainly is ballsy enough to get something done. He tries to address his needs in the best way possible, dollars and draft picks (and long term contracts) be damned.

Of course, Holmgren hasn't won anything yet, but you can be damn sure he's trying. He's a GM that gets results one way or another.

That team is just waiting to explode though. Like his moves or not, the team looks good now and in the future.

already way ahead of you. Got stan to agree to trade underperforming, soft Kane to Vancouver for Luongo. Also got him to sign Doan for 5 years 32 mil. We're a lock to win it now.

What I think is funny is how Vancouver fans were all 'when Weber comes here because he wants to play here' mode for a few weeks now. Uh..... No Shea Weber coming to Vancouver. LOL!

That's why we need to stay out of the Luongo thing (one of the many reasons). If he was gone already, maybe they offersheet Weber first.

Good point cold steel. Let them keep him so they have less flexibility in offer sheets and the like.

Vorocek is a free agent this year. If they get Weber they can't sign him without moving other players.
