the best part of this whole new scenario is the camp who thought Matt Carle was going to be "the guy" to get re-signed this season " for sure"..

HAHAHA!!!!

you know why there was no Carle offer/signing on the first day of FA?? cuz there was NEVER any chance Carle was getting resigned..

Homers eye was on Weber the entire time since we got bumped from the PO's..

book it/

I am gonna be so bummed when Nashville matches.

I would give Nashville Mez in a side deal for future considerations if it meant Nashville not matching.

When I heard that news I could not believe there was no word about it around the time he was visiting.

How do you hide somebody that size? Did he infiltrate the city dressed as the Phanatic?

This coincides with Morganti reporting the Flyers reserved/rented an entire floor of a Philly restaurant when he was in town.

I don't think they'll match. I think that between all the up front money and the comments Weber's agent keeps making about him not wanting to be in Nashville anymore, they will let him walk. I do think another trade between Nashville and Philly will take place.

Does this confirm Homer actually was serious about sheeting Stamkos last year?

Oh bot if NSH doesn't match, my second favorite team is beastly next year. Weber would push you guys over the top, and then some.

I think he would've but apparently Stamkos was adamant about staying in Tampa. He could've given an Offer Sheet but if Stamkos didn't sign it we would've never heard about it.

I was thinking that when I engaged....still how many cups have they won since they set themselves back with that Desjardins and LeClair deal..then the Gomez signing did take the cake. But I have to be honest I thought Gomez was a better fit in Philly than Briere..thankfully I was wrong!

I didn't watch sportscenter today, was there any mention of this at all? I know Jeremy Lin received about a week's worth of front page coverage on ESPN.com and top billing on sportscenter. This is currently not on ESPN.com's front page and I'm just trying to see if they are even talking about it.

Yep, sort of like how we never heard about the offer sheet for Carter that he turned down until after he was traded.

That LickTheEnvelope guy in the General section is getting hilariously annoying. He keeps droning on about how there's "no doubt" that Nashville has the finances to pay Weber while also reaching the cap floor. Bitter Canucks fans everywhere.

Dreger on 97.3 - He thinks Nashville will match in the end, but isn't sure how they can afford.

Supposedly, Nashville's ticket revenue last year was 26 Million, and now they would have to pay to to Weber with or without a season.

Lets hope we get him.

I really dont see how it's possible for nashville to match, financially... However I also don't see how it's possible they don't match an offer sheet for Shea Weber...I also don't see how they could warrant paying a player more than they can actually afford when his agent has just essentially said that he doesn't want to play in Nashville

This is going to be interesting.

About a 20 second clip, then back to NFL coverage.

I haven't been listening to WIP all day, but I turned it on and they were still talking about Phillies sucking and Eagles coming up. I never listened to 97.3 but they have had Dreger on, SanFilippo and Weber's agent. I think I'll continue to listen to them even though I don't get great reception for them here.

I'm not a financial expert, but it seems like they'd need some sort of loan to afford this. In this economy, I wonder how feasible that is?

I have not the slightest idea.
