I would be completely fine wit doing nothing more than signing Voracek if the cap stays at what it is now.

Harntell-Giroux-Briere
Read-Schenn-Simmonds
Wellwood-Couturier-Voracek
FEdotenko-Talbot-Rinaldo
Shelley

Coburn-Weber
Timonen-Schenn
Grossman-Meszaros

Wow that defense would be such a towering, intimidating, and physical defense. Not to mention versatile. Every pairing would have a puck mover and a guy who can smash heads

Bonuses are unaffected by any rollback in salaries by the new CBA. Weber is getting paid the bonus money as is in the contract regardless of what the new CBA says.

Also, the bonuses are due every July 1st... it's a move that would absolutely cripple Nashville's ability to sign FA's even more going forward.

Speaking out of frustration plus being unwanted in Anaheim

He'll be a Flyer/Pred a lot longer than that. no chance either team is going to pay him some $27 million in bonus money over the next 12 months and then deal him to a team that'll reap future cap/financial benefits in the deal.

Why are people talking about trading Voracek again? We're adding a piece, not remixing our team. Do not touch the offense.

A defenseman will probably get moved for Weber, probably Meszaros, because is wouldn't make sense to me to trade Schenn, Grossmann or Coburn. I could maybe (but I hope not) see Timonen going back to Nashville (they need someone on D for the present...) if we get Weber. Gervais, Bourdon, etc don't have enough value/cap hit.

Or if we make no move at all, we could have a D with Weber, Timonen, Coburn, Grossmann, Schenn and Meszaros. Would that be an elite D? We could afford it.

He will be a pred of a Flyer for the next 14 years, unless there is a claus in the contract to end early. Not sure if there is a trade clause in it.

Let me ask you this, if it helped get Ryan to flyers.

would you do it?

i love voracheck to, but if you give him up along with phantoms and whatever picks we have left is it worth it in your eyes

With that "elite D", we could give Timonen a lesser role, so he wouldn't be worn out at the end of the year, which would really help, too.

And if a miracle happens, we could have

Pronger - Timonen
Weber - Coburn
Schenn - Grossmann

Just imagine. Wouldn't make a Pronger - Weber pairing, though, they play the same type of game. Pronger and Timonen are really complementary.

I see them matching even if it goes against every belief and mangaerial philosophy they have. I see them matching even if it hurts them in future. As a small market team , you need to make a stand once in a while and this the player you want to make a stand with.

That is why i hope holmgren sweentens the pot a bit and allows Nashville to take something back to their fanbase.

The flyers want this, weber wants this, we just need to convince nash its the the thing to do.

A top 5 defenseman who is a right handed d-man the flyers have been looking for since Desjardins? Yeah they are going to trade him.

Pronger is not coming back. Would be great, but its just not happening. Weber was signed to replace him.

Well, we won't have 1st round picks anymore. Voracek + a prospect/2nd round pick for Ryan? Definitely, but there's no way Anaheim accepts that.

sifting through the b.s will they match or not? i think they will cause they have to if they consider themselves a professional sports team. obviously i don't want them to but I'm trying not to get to excited. it's too much of a game changer for us if we get him to not be all disappointed if we don't.

Sam @ Inq.: "Nashville is backpeddling a little bit if you read the comments. Poile is hedging a little bit. Odds: 50/50 right now. It is such a (big) decision. 50/50 to me is very impressive. I was told by a Flyers' executive that it was highly unlikely they would make such an offer for Weber (at the end of the season)."

"I talk to (one of the agents) of Weber and he said 'Shea wants to play with a legitimate team to win the Stanley Cup.' He (Weber) was stunned that Suter didn't end up back with Nashville. I would say right now that the Flyers come a lot closer with Weber. I think Jake Voracek is a guy they must sign. Around $3 million per year which sounds like chump change by comparison. Getting 4 picks for Weber is not going to cut it (from Nashville's perspective). The Flyers will get cap relief if Pronger going on LTIR. Holmgren two weeks ago said Pronger is having good days and bad days (which was better than the last update) but you don't sign Weber if you think Pronger is coming back. It is a sad day if Pronger (career ends)."

Typing this as he speaks.

Richards isn't even close in comparison to Clarke. All those comparison were just hype. He's a good player but come on.

I hope this wasn't a serious idea, but that is a funny image to picture.
