Ron Francis, Vice President of Hockey Operations for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Tim Wallace on a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Wallace $700,000 at the NHL level, or $105,000 at the minor-league level, for the 2012-13 season.
so is Tim generally liked? or is he another bum for the 4th line/Charlotte? and im being completely honest, i have no idea about him, so help is necessary in that regard. thanks
He's a good hitter, doesn't hurt defensively but doesn't particularly help either, little to no offense and lacks footspeed. He's an OK 4th liner but he's more an AHL leader/NHL call up guy on good team.
Typical workhorse fourth liner who's best off in the AHL because of his non-existent offensive game and mediocre skating.
Hits anything that moves, though.

Sounds like one of the targeted "size on the 4th line" signings that JR was talking about heading into the season then. He'll probably be fighting it out with guys like Anthony Stewart for the 4th line slot in camp.
played for the Islanders at times....basically only on the NHL team due to lack of depth..if he plays 82 games for the Canes, either alot of injuries happened or the Canes lack NHL depth....basically another John Mitchell type player..
Don't we already have this guy? His name is Nicholas Blanchard....I just don't get signings like this at all, unless he is indeed a character guy who will spend every game in Charlotte. He lacks foot speed so he's not gonna be on the PK....we now have four 4th liners so something's got to give. One or more of Brent, Stewart, Dwyer, LaRose, or Bowman seemingly have to be part of a trade package....unless we carry a 23 man roster and assume that Wallace is a Checker.
