Knew it was going to happen. I'm thinking an AAV between 4 and 4.25.

Haha, right in the middle.

I think this is a very fair deal. Oshie should be happy, and I think the term is great for the team. Nice that they avoided arbitration. Oshie's agent did his job, but didn't let the negotiations self-destruct. Now...where does that put the Blues with respect to the salary floor?

Couldn't be more happy to resign for another 5 years with the Blues. #bestfansever @StLouisBlues -- TJ Oshie (@OSH74)

The #NHL #STLBlues are still half a million below the floor with Oshie re-signed. capgeek.com/charts_floor.p…

Exactly what I was hoping to see coming on here before bed. Awesome.

Now if the NHL/NHLPA can figure out the CBA, we're going to have one hell of a time watching these blues.

I think they're missing Woywitka (or whoever is the 7th defenseman) which would add 700K and at least put them over the floor. Anyway, I don't think Armstrong MUST make a trade to reach the floor.

Ah geez, is Nichol under contract, too? Then if you subtract one of him/Porter/etc, its pretty much a wash with the 7th defender's contract. So....yes, the team needs to make a deal to reach the floor.

I guess the cap floor could possibly come down with a new CBA too.

We are probably one of, if not the most attractive team for Doan. Just depends on what he is looking for, but with our roster and playing style, he has to be interested.

If the ceiling comes down, contracts come down proportionally. If the floor comes down, it'll have to come down less in order for the Blues to magically ooze up over it.

I guessed 4.25 for 6 years. I'll take that as a win.

It shouldn't make you think anything. The Blues will easily use up enough cap space due to injuries/callups to take care of the rest. Of course, that's even if the cap ceiling/floor stays the same in the next cba...which it very well may not.
