Only performance bonuses would be covered by the cushion.

worst thing that happens is that Weber stays out of the East for the foreseeable future. Maybe even his entire career.

Yeah, I know. I was just making sure no one thought that the bonus cushion would lower Weber's cap hit to $1 M.

For 900k in salary left instead of 100+M, including 26M in the first year, to put that in perspective, think everyone can see what I really meant. I'm sick of the Shelley hate though.

I think you're being sarcastic, but can't really tell. Anyway Jody Shelley is very bad at hockey.

Dude. I like Jody as a person. But as a hockey player he ****ing sucks. He can't even hang with the top 10 heavyweights now days. For what he is getting paid he should be wrecking the league.

They're really going to have fun with next year if they match the contract.

Me and Homer understand it differently, and he's a great locker room guy.

Which is why you waive him (nobody will claim) and keep him around the team in the press box and have him scratched in the minors, both win, he stays around the team and he also doesn't take up cap

Nashville is still 13 million under the cap floor. even if they match they have a ways to go to get to the floor.
they are a budget team tho who will likely only spend to that floor regardless what they do with Weber.
Maybe they give 10 million per to Semin instead

Sestito isn't a true heavy and can't handle the division alone, and a cap hit of 1.1M won't stop any other moves. His roster spot being filled by a rookie would destroy their development because they wouldn't play enough.

Work this up on CapGeek and found that with Voracek signed with a hefty raise and Shelley waived down and replaced with Sesito... and various players such as Harry Z., Gus and MAB, etc. down on the farm... and Pronger placed on LTI, using the allowance... SheaWeber can easily fit in on the straight four Number One OS deal without moving any other players like Mesz off the Roster... The numbers are below, but please keep in mind the Cap Space is not correct because the Flyers can only offset the replacement cost on Pronger's LTI.
