Well, depends. Does the 13M bonus count against the cap?

the main board is claiming 7.875M cap hit which would get this under the cap for the flyers, still the's have little to no room.

They have almost $5m in cap space because of Pronger.

They also have 8 d-men signed (not counting Pronger) so could likely move someone there too.

They need to re-sign Voracek (probably $4m minimum)

That's about it, so they can squeek by. Next season they only have Simmonds to re-sign as well (who is due a raise). Hartnell could get a raise too.

If we want to really screw them over we offer-sheet Voracek for $5m. They could match it, but it would really cause them issues.

Yea, sounds like Pronger is not coming back. If he does the Flyers are screwed.

I like the offer sheet idea on Voracek, might also force some trading as i'd like Simmonds in Teal also..

Whats the NHLs sales pitch now? Come invest in the NHL and proudly invest in ten teams farm teams.
It is 2 teams this offseason, but if you add every year since the lockout it goes up drastically. Detroit, vancouver, islanders, devils, wild, philly, chicago. And that only counts the teams, not the amount of players signed to cap circumventing contracts. Detroit has 2, chicago has 1, islanders have 1, devils have 1, wild have 2, philly has 2 (but have signed another 2), vancouver has 1.

Those are only the ones i can think of off the top of my head.

I feel like Mike Morris shouldn't be on that list, didn't he get concussed into oblivion during college?

Well someone on the Nashville Boards has attempted to start an email campaign by posting the orgs email addresses. The point of the email is to threaten to cancel your season tickets if the org doesn't match. Would be interesting if it catches on, it would be akin to writing your congressman.

I might even pose as a preds fan

Here is the emails she posted shenry@nashvillepredators.com, jcogen@nashvillepredators.com

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle
Players still scheduled to go to arbitration: Bachman, Fistric, Gagner, Versteeg, S.Kostitsyn, Fayne, Stralman, Daugavins, Kulemin, Weise

A few of these guys I could see being awarded more than their teams are willing to pay. Wonder if DW swoops in on anyone after a team walks away.

Versteeg would be nice but I'm sure Florida will keep him. Tallon loves the guy. I'm not sold on Kulemin after the season he's had.

just saw this on the main board.

i think he may have been signed later this summer if available depending on what DW did to fill roster spots. this is a good deal for him, i would not have pd this much for him, id rather have Burnish at this point for the same $$

He wasn't great but he was definitely worth 1.8M a year. With the new coaching he actually should have fit pretty well in the PK.

Maybe Winnik and his agent are just dicks. He had problems with re-signing in Colorado, wouldn't be surprised if something similar took place here.

Lets see, good RFA forwards still out there....

Kane, Versteeg, S. Kostitsyn, Voracek, Ennis, O'Reilly, Benn, and...that's right...James Sheppard.

Former Shark (player, coach) Rob Zettler (after being "let go" from NHL Toronto) lands with AHL Syracuse as assistant.
