No matter what happens with Weber, are the Flyers no longer trading for Bobby Ryan?

No matter what happens with Weber, are the Flyers no longer trading for Bobby Ryan?

When I heard the news that Nashville wanted both Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier for Shea Weber and the Flyers said no, that got me thinking no matter what happens with the offer sheet are they also no longer going to trade for Bobby Ryan? If they get Weber they won't have any 1st round picks and if they didn't want to include Schenn or Couturier, I can't see them wanting to give them up for Ryan.

I'm not sure what Ryan's availability is at this point, but I imagine we priced them out a while back. It's been fairly quiet on the Ryan front since the draft.

If we get Weber we are not getting Ryan. Maybe we will sign Doan or Semin to a 1 year contract.

Yep, and I'll go as far as saying we priced everyone out. He's not moving.

Will be moved once the dust settles with Nash, Semin and Doan. Book it.

Mighty Ducks need a shake up.

Not likely with that whole salary cap thing

True, but it will take B Schenn which Flyers are not going to do. If Ana wants a 2nd line center, there are other options than the Flyers. Ryan was never going to be a FLyer anyways

Well if you believe any of the rumours, Ryan was heading to the flyers on draft day, but Anahiem kept moving the goalposts for the offer.

Holmgren was seriously pissed off that deal didn't happen. I've never seen a GM going to the podium so angry lol.

I've yet to see what this supposed offer entailed ... Inquiring fans want to know if Barstool Bob was about to trade his namesake in the deal or not. Holmgren was probably upset that the barstool was dropped from the offer at the last minute

I'm sure he was angry at the reaction the Penguins fans were giving him.

If Weber goes to the Flyers they would have no 1st round draft picks for the next 4 years at most.

The only way this deal happens is if the package is increased because I believe before the consensus would have been at least 1 first round pick.

So of course to get Ryan pretty much the price becomes a bit too much.

Maybe:
Read/Couturier + Voracek/Simmonds + Akeson/Ranford/Manning/Gustafsson/Cousins/2nd Round picks

Ryan is not going to the Flyers if Weber's offer sheet goes through, I think Boston is a remote possibility but I'd say there is a 75% chance Ryan is in a Ducks uniform at the beginning of the season.

If Weber goes to Philly, they'd have a hard time getting Ryan too. I doubt they get Ryan.

I think their forward corps is too deep to add Ryan in as well.

If the Flyers get Weber for the picks (which is unlikely) they'll get Ryan for Coburn/Meszaros and Voracek/Read and maybe a prospect. My guess.

One does not simply stop Paul Holmgren from being an epic trader.

the world around the delaware valley was and is a ryan deal would never involve coots or schenn it would involve read and/or jakub, and gustafsson and picks, the deal was hung up on a weber trade since if they OSed him they'd lose 4 1sts, so if the flyers miss out on shea then i expect a play for ryan

Ryans salary of 5 million for a top line winger is very reasonable. It's not like we couldn't send Mezaros or someone elsewhere.

I'd honestly just wait and see if he reaches free agency. As long as there is some money available I'm pretty sure Bobby would be pretty willing to sign in Philly considering he said he'd like to play here while being a member of another team.

Imagine a core of:

Giroux
Couturier
B. Schenn
Ryan
Weber
L. Schenn
Coburn

Wow.

if the Flyers get Weber, IMHO they are the favorite to win the Cup, if you add Ryan ... well heck might as well not even play the season.
