Man, the Blues are in terrific shape going forward with a lot of good players locked up to reasonable deals and some terrific prospects coming up.
They look to remain to remain near the top of the heap for quite some time. Hopefully the Oilers can join them at the top sometime in the next 15 years or so.

Is Army a magician or what??

I mean we got Backes, Oshie and Perron (preferred top line for many blues fans) locked up together for the next four years for a hit of less than 15 mil a year...

exciting time for the note

Examples of things that would get the job done:
D'Agostini (1.65M) + 3d for Morrow (4.1M)
Stewart (3M) + Rattie + 1st for Yandle (5.25M)
sign Colaiacovo, though this would make us throw up in our mouths.
You could also likely pick up Thomas for next to nothing, and use his cap space without taking a roster spot or spend any actual dollars.

you know points aren`t everything, do you?!?

and if you compare G with Osh you also have to compare their defense

this is a great deal, thought he`d get slightly less than Backes, once again

Good deal for the Blues, especially for 5 years.

Great! Oshie's point production is perfect for the Blues trap style.

Its tiring to see such superficial valuations of a player, based entirely on point production in a vacuum. This is a great deal for the Blues, and gives TJ security for the rest of his life. Win/win. Barring anything unforeseen, he'll cash in with a big contract at the end of this one, but we all know that things don't always go the way you plan in professional sports.

I'm so glad the Blues locked Oshie up. This team is full of great contracts and it really seems like the core are taking discounts to stay with the team. You could tell last year that they loved playing with each other and I think that is one of the main reasons they did so well. Adding Tarasenko and Schwartz, this team is only going to get better!

Uh-oh. Someone said "trap". Better beg your avatar for mercy.

Good deal for the Blues, although I'm finding myself increasingly concerned with where salaries are going generally heading into CBA negotiations.

Amazing for the Blues. Keeping him at 5 years at just over 4 per is ridiculous.

Reminds me of the Dubinsky contract. Hopefully Oshie's play doesn't jump off a cliff.

Except Dubinsky has never had the defensive game that Oshie possesses.

Wasn't my sarcasm obvious enough? My post was a response to someone earlier belittling Oshie's lack of point production and claiming he wasn't worth the contract.
