He's going to Dallas. Going to be the young guy on a line with Jagr and Whitney

Blues? They've got a full team and have yet to hit the cap floor.

Detroit or Washinton makes sense. One year one million dollars? Worth a shot if he can still skate and would look like a steal if he gets 20 or more goals.

I heard there was a certain cap-floor team in the East looking for a second-line center

I guess Mark Gandler took Negotiating 101 and learned that «make them believe you have alternatives» was something you should do.

The question isn't whether people on HFboards think he'd be a good mentor... the question is whether anybody in an NHL front office thinks he'd be a good mentor.

And as long as Kevin Lowe still has a job, I'm worried that the answer might be "yes".

Why would people even suggest the Oilers? Yashin is the perfect example of how we don't want Yakupov to turn out.

If this is true. I would say Buffalo or Calgary.

Goalie: Hasek
Chelios has only missed a few seasons. You're forgetting a bunch of guys who have tried for the Leafs in the not so distant past: Thomas, Allison, O'Neill.
I was really rooting for Fleury in his attempted come back, thought he might actually have a decent chance.

Not sure why anyone would want Yashin. Probably still has some skill, but would have a negative mentorship impact and would have to overpay him to compete with the money he could earn in the KHL.

I am all for giving a vet in this league a chance, but with Yashin -- who basically is way to slow for the KHL -- I really doubt anyone would be interested...

Headed to Montreal to mentor Plekanec on how to keep his turtlenecks clean and looking brand new.

the trick is not giving enough effort to break a sweat

I'm not worried, Armstrong is too smart to let a cancer like Yashin on the team.

Ha ha, same old story! Not only isn't Yashin 10% a player he was when he returned to the KHL, he doesn't even play center much nowdays.

They actually haven't played together since 2006 Olympics, so Yashin mentored him to all his success

Is there any chance Yashin has matured? Sometimes, people actually do change. If so, I see Yashin as a decent top-nine with some scoring potential. A right handed shot on PP, and maybe 15-20 goals at best. At worst, a locker room cancer creating conflicts and ruining the team. A high risk, low reward signing. How about Phoenix? Does he golf?
