If the bridge is not obstructing view, how will it be a distraction?

its still going to be in your line of sight, thus it being a distraction

Tunnel vision (also known as "Kalnienk Vision") is the loss of peripheral vision with retention of central vision, resulting in a constricted circular tunnel-like field of vision. Add to that the likelihood that you will be able to see people walking around on the bridges above your field of view, and you further increase the distraction. How many people will be effected, and how badly, remains to be seen. But it's a distinct possibility that people, particularly towards the last several rows, will have their experience compromised in some way.

I just wonder if MSG is going to continue to be dark, which I hope it is.

I would have to think that they will put the lights on for the entire game, because what will be the point of spending $800ish million on a renovation that no one will be able to see during the game?

apparently the reason the arena is dark and appears even darker on tv is apparently because they want to keep the light off the crowd and on the product only from a TV perspective i.e. hockey, basketball when you watch on tv, you can barely see the crowd

I like it dark. Whenever I go to other arenas I feel like i'm taken out of the game because it's to bright.

On the flip side a couple of my friends hate MSG because it's to dark & there is no fan interaction.

I love that MSG is dark, that's why I'm just curious to know if they are going to change that.

I also hope they keep the lighting close to the way it is now. Been to other buildings where it's blindingly bright in the seats and don't like it nearly as much.

You guys actually think they'll change the lighting? Not a chance. The Rangers enjoy beating the Bruins on home ice

Awesome.

Also, shouldn't your username be Kreiders Thong, instead of underwear?

Looks like the new cameras may be stationed in the first row of the upper bowl. If you look at the earth cam for today, it looks like there is a little area set up for it in the front of what would be 224.

Is it just me or is that a bit low, or at least lower than what it was before?

It is. Old TV booth was just below the 9th floor and farther away while this new location (if it is that) is just below the 8th floor and is much closer to the ice.

Is it possible that they only use that angle for the Knicks? I'm no basketball fan, but I like the angle low in basketball.

In hockey, Edmonton has an extremely low angle and it's just awful.

I love the MSG camera angle I hope they do not change it. I hate the arenas like Florida and Edmonton where it is so low

I agree. But unfortunately, that's the way it is with the newer arenas. Look at the Devils games at the Prudential Center, too low and close.

I'm also wondering where the TV/Radio booths will be located.

Actually, I believe that first row area will extend for a couple sections and will serve as the new press area. You can see what I mean in the virtual seating chart. It may very well house a new camera location, but I think it's mainly the new press area.

I was originally thinking the same thing...but those sure are some choice seats to be using for the press. I mean that has to be 40 $150 front row seats taken up by that long table. Are you sure it's not ADA/wheelchair seating? Plus, I was under the impression the press was in one of the corner sections.

I guess we will see. But either way, corner section or first row of upper bowl, a pretty prime locale. But then again, in the pre-reno Garden, Brooks and the other local papers' writers were in one of the best located press boxes in the league right above the Zamboni gate. They could've easily used those seats for sale and I always wondered why they didn't.
